Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Snow in the morning, sun in the afternoon

Not a pleasant morning for walking outside.  It was 16 degrees with a wind blowing and the snow coming down like crazy so I decided to stay inside this morning.  I didn't walk in the basement either but I did walk around the house a lot.  Every so often I'd get up and walk 500 steps around the house and by the time I go to bed tonight I will have gotten the minimum steps in for the day that I like to walk.

I usually do my exercise tape Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri but did it today too because I didn't walk.

I finished reading the book Life After Life by Kate Atkinson.  As the title suggests the main character dies and keeps coming back to life.  She keep coming back as herself but he life takes a different direction.  To read more about what it is about click HERE.  I thought it was a good book but one of the strangest I've read.  It's many stories in one.

I went outside in the afternoon when the snow was gone and the sun was shining but it was still very cold and windy.  Just got the mail and then walked around the yard awhile just to get some fresh air.

This is the spot where the garden will be.  You can see I still have to dig up 4 rose bushes and a bunch of grass like plants that I don't know the name of and a little tree.  Ken has designed some raised beds with walkways between them.  Hard to believe that this picture and the snowy one are both from today isn't it?
Baked  some Welsh cookies this afternoon.  This time they are for us and four of them will be my snack tonight.  I did eat one this afternoon as well.  They are not only good but I like that they are only 40 calories each.

Hope  your day has been a happy one.

Three Things that made me happy today.
  1. The snow came and went
  2. Finishing a book and starting another
  3. Welsh cookies

That storm was huge! The sun is shining here again, but the wind is still strong. We got no snow from it...just the wind and cold. Are Welsh cookies like crumpets? (They don't look like cookies. = D )

It is windy here today too, but no snow. At least your snow storm moved on quickly. That will really be a nice spot for your garden. Enjoy those Welsh cookies for your snack.

Your snowy picture is very pretty. That is quite a contrast between your two photos! Who would guess they are the same day? :)

We woke up to a dusting of snow on Tuesday but it melted. It snowed off and on all day but never did amount to anything, thankfully.

I looked at your link to the Welsh cookies - those look very good!

Hope you start getting some decent walking weather.

You are so disciplined with your exercise and your eating. I am always inspired by my visits here.
That is hard to believe it is the same day in your photos. Your garden plans look really nice. I look forward to seeing it again once everything is planted.

I have little tricks for getting my steps in, too. It is hard to believe that both photos are from the same day! Art
