Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

A warm 44 degrees this morning.  It was supposed to be raining last night but it hadn't started yet when I got up.  It looked like rain though so I wore my rain pants and took along my umbrella.  Walked up the main road in town passed the bank and remembered I wanted to take some money out of the ATM but forgot my card so I went back home to get it and walked back to the bank.  While at ATM it rained for just the couple of minutes I was under cover.  Walked back home to drop the money off.  Carried my umbrella with me but never had to use it.

I walked here and there around town without seeing anyone else out.  Snapped this picture of a house at the edge of town.
Over at the town pond I saw all the same kinds of birds as yesterday but added a cardinal and blue bird.

The rain started as I started walking up my driveway.
I walked 6.5 miles.

The rain didn't last long but the day remained cloudy and very windy.

We went to theTractor Supply Company to see if they had rubbers to put over my shoes for walking in the rain.  They had them for men but none for women.  I would have gotten men's but the smallest size was medium and they were too big.  Small would have been good.  We checked at Walmart and a shoe store but no luck.  So I came home and ordered them from Tractor Supply on line.  Being in the store was worth while anyway because I tried on a pair of Lee Jeans and they fit so I bought them.  But the best thing of all being at the store was seeing all the baby chicks and ducks they had there for sale.  Oh they were so cute.

The book I'm reading now is another one by Linda Castillo, Pray for Silence and it is the second in the Kate Burkholder series.  It's another good one and I'm half finished with it already.  I started out by listening to the fourth one while walking in the basement and then read the first in the series and now the second.  I have the third one to read too.

Not sure what to have for supper yet but I do know that my snack tonight will be some ice cream - more of that chocolate chip mint.
Vee - you were right when you commented that you remember my favorite being chocolate chip.  They don't have that kind very often.
The ice cream goes on sale tomorrow at the Shop and Save and maybe they will have it then.

I'm going to go and read some more of my book now.
Hope you are all enjoying your Friday.

What you need to know about the past
is that no matter what has happened,
it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment.
And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new.
Right now.

Three Happy Times Today
  1. Making it home from my walk before the rain
  2. Seeing the baby chicks and ducks
  3. Trying on one pair of Jeans and having them fit perfectly

I clicked to enlarge the house photo. What a pretty, stately entrance. I think the red twig dogwoods are so eye catching. We used to have them in Michigan and I always loved the way they looked in the snow... add a red cardinal to the mix and instant perfection:).
Oh how cute those little chicks and ducks must have been. Always nice to find a pair of jeans that fits.
Enjoy your ice cream. Mint chocolate chip is one of my favorites.

How lucky you were to try on a pair of jeans that fit - on the first try!

Did seeing the baby chicks and ducks make you want to bring some home?:-)

That's good for the rain to hold off while you were walking.

Enjoy that snack! I even enjoyed some ice cream tonight!:-)

The photo really made me realize that spring has come to your area. The red canes on the shrubs are beautiful.

You timed your walk well. I got rained on a bit while hiking but then it stopped. I hope you enjoyed your ice cream. Art
