Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

I won: )

We had a very nice Christmas day and hope you enjoyed yours as well. : )

We started watching the movie, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World at 10:00 last night on television.   I don't know how many minutes the movie actually is but there were so many commercials that it didn't get over until 2:00 in the morning.  It seemed like we watched 10 minutes of movie and then 5 minutes of commercials.  We were hopping up each commercial and laughed because we were able to get so much done on the commercials.  I had never seen the movie before and laughed and laughed.  What a crazy movie!!  : )

After going to bed late I didn't wake up till 8:00 this morning and was surprised to see it snowing again.  Very windy too so I decided to stay inside and do the Leslie Sansone 3 mile inside walk.

I got a couple of jigsaw puzzles for Christmas and did one of them already.  Started it yesterday and finished today.
By lunch time the snow had stopped and the sun came out.  I had to return a book to the library so dressed warmly and walked to the library.  Told Ken not to worry if I didn't come home right away because I might go for a little walk.  And I did.  Walked about 4 miles around town.  It was so nice to be outside walking in the sunshine for a change.
Lucky me. : )  I won a give away from Nellie at Berries and More.  I received part of it today in the mail, this Tea and Teatime Recipe booklet.
I've found lots of things that I'd like to make and I think some scones will be the first thing I try.
Also part of the give a way was a subscription to Tea Time magazine.
Thanks Nellie, I'm so happy that I won. : )

It's been a nice day and hope you have enjoyed yours too.
Till next time.......
Be happy.

  1. Oh! Thank you for mentioning my blog!

I saw that movie at some point in the past and thought it was funny. It didn't have commercials when I saw it, though, and it was a long movie then!:-)

How lucky that you were able to walk in the sunshine!

    Have a good evening!

  2. The puzzle looks like it was fun to work. I love jigsaw puzzles.

The gift you won is really nice. Congratulations!!

  3. Your picture of the snowy path and the pretty blue sky should be framed! Very nice!

  4. Congrats on winning! Maybe you will share the scone recipe. Josh wanted to make scones on Christmas Eve and we did but I had never made them before. Found a recipe online but Charly said he thought that scones were fried - the ones we made were baked in the oven. Now I am confused - but whatever Josh and I made was very good! Sounds like you had a very nice Christmas. Puzzles can be very enjoyable. So glad you got to watch a funny movie. Laughing is really so much fun!

  5. You will love scones with cream tea....a wonderful afternoon pick me up! We likewise had a very quiet family Christmas with our daughter, exactly what we love most. Happy New Year to you in your new home/'''''''''''''''''''''

  6. I LOVE that novie! It is so funny, and it really says something about human nature. But the commercials would drive me crazy.

I am glad that you had a nice Christmas. That tea book is a great prize. What time is tea today? ;^) Art

  7. Glad to hear that you had a nice Christmas. You wasted no time in getting that puzzle done.
We recently started recording everything we watch. That way we can whip through the commercials.
Congratulations on your win. These days after Christmas are perfect for perusing new cookbooks and magazines.

  8. That puzzle is absolutely beautiful!!
