Farmer Bill passed by in his truck and stopped to say hi. He was excited because today he was getting a 'heat system' installed in his house. He said he will no longer have to get up early in the morning to stoke up the fires!!!
I'm on my way back to town here. I thought this looked pretty with the sun shining on the town. Where I was walking, the sun hadn't come all the way up over the mountain yet.
I walked around one of the cemeteries and down the main road for a while and then turned around and walked home.
I walked 6.3 miles.

Since it was such a pretty day Ken and I went up to Happy Trails this morning and hiked around up there for a while.
This trail here is on state land which our land backs up on.

One of my Christmas presents that Ken gave me was a new Bible (KJV). I love my new Bible but I'm now in the process of transferring all my notes and underlinings from my old Bible to the new one and it's quite a job. I've just finished with Psalms and about to start Proverbs.
It is like getting a new computer and transferring all your stuff from one to the other.
We're running out to Ace's Run in a little while to get a hamburger for supper.
Hope your Friday has been a good one.
happyone : )
A happy New year.
Grant that I may bring no tear to any eye.
When this New Year time shall end,
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.

Deb - I've never heard of scones that are fried - only baked in the oven. If you click on the picture of inside the book and make it bigger, you should be able to read the basic scone recipe.

Karen - thanks for the tip on the scones. I think that my husband has them confused with Beignets from New Orleans. They are fried. I got a new bible for Christmas from my husband too! Charly bought me one of Joyce Meyer's Everyday Life Amplified Bibles. I am so excited about it. I have several translations of the bible- mostly I read and mark my KJV because that is the version our church uses. My old KJV bible (which really isn't THAT old at all) is about falling apart from reading and use, but I guess that is a good thing! You surely do live in a beautiful little town! I love these pictures. Enjoy your weekend.
What a wonderful gift!!
Happy trails is looking good in the snow.
I see you have had some snow again! What an improvement the farmer will notice when the heat system is installed in his house!
It sounds like you've had a really good day, even ending it with a burger!
Thank you so much for sharing
I appreciate it a lot
:-)
That's a beautiful gift. Bothe the Bible and the day! I love having a lot of translations in the house, but find myself falling back on KJV and NIV the most.
