I walked the farm loop going in the opposite direction that I usually walk. Then walked around one of the little cemeteries, up to the main road and down it for a bit, then turned around and headed home.
On the long stretch of road in the picture a woman in a maroon car passes me each morning (usually the only car) and at first she waved. Now she no longer waves because most times she is talking on the phone. I always walk facing traffic and this morning I saw her coming towards me but she stayed right on the edge of the road. I thought she doesn't see me and I hopped into the field as she passed by. Sure enough she was on the phone and I'm sure she didn't even see me. I'm sure glad I was paying attention!!
I took another picture of the chickens as I walked passed their farm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We drove to Cumberland which is about 30 miles or so from home. Ken wanted to check out a hobby store there. We found the store and then walked around town a bit. He was hoping they would have some scale modeling train supplies but the selection was poor. I'm not really crazy about the old part of town and I find it a bit depressing. We soon left and stopped at a few stores in LaVale. One of which was Kohls and I got some things - long sleeve T shirts, a white blouse, a pink sweatshirt type jacket for those cool morning walks, and some work gloves. It was Karen Day! : )
Then it was outside on the riding mower cutting the lawn for me. I am quite a sight as I drive around the yard. I wear my ball cap, big red ear protection things and sunglasses to keep the flying grass out of my eyes. I've also learned not to sing while I mow because even though I can't hear others can hear me!! : )
My next event was walking to the library for the Book Club. There 10 people there including me. Only one person didn't read the book and I liked that we actually did discuss the book which was King Peggy by Peggielene Bartels and Eleanor Herman. We all liked the book. It wasn't a page turner for me but I did like it.
Next months book is The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker. I put the book on the reserve list at the library and I'm number two.
Soon I'll be having my snack and watching a little television. No ice cream for me today. I'm having cottage cheese, with fresh strawberries, a banana, and a handful of raisins.
A happy day to you.
