Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

copper cleaner

Each morning its been getting a few degrees warmer and today it was 64.  Some fog and a little drizzle around this morning.  I started out with my umbrella but I didn't need it so when I passed by the house I left it by the mailbox.  A mile or so away a little drizzle started.  Not even enough to get me wet.  It was more like walking through a cloud.  It actually felt good and kept me cool.

I didn't see anyone else out walking or running.  I'm starting to see some of the same cars going by with people on their way to work.  Not as many cars around here so I can recognize them more easily.

It was a quiet and peaceful walk and the time went by so fast.  I can hardly believe I was out there walking for 95 minutes.

I walked 6.2 miles and took 11,834 steps.
No pennies today and during the whole month of July I only found 5 pennies.  Not a very good coin month.  We shall see what this month brings. : )

Just did normal house stuff this morning and then after lunch we went up the road to check out the nearest Rite Aid where Ken gets his prescription filled.  It is in a little shopping center with a Good Will, Shop and Save, a hardware store and a few other stores.  I'd guess it is about 15 miles away.  We walked around the hardware store and I found some copper cleaner there which I've been looking for since we moved here.  I'm so glad to have found some because the bottoms of my pans are really looking sad.  I usually get the powder kind but they just had the paste, which is fine.  I've used Cameo and Copper Cleaner brand before and this one I found today is Wrights Copper Cream.  You can also make a cleaner with ketchup and vinegar which I've used and it works pretty good.

I was going to tackle the lawn mower again this afternoon but it rained so I'll have to postpone that fun until another day. : )

Hope your day is a happy one.

You and I are the same - what's a little rain? I am glad you are enjoying life in your new home and so near to your retreat.
