Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

6 and counting

Each day that passes brings us one day closer to move in day. : )  6 more trailer nights.

The 4th of July celebration in town was a great time and we had a nice sunny day for it.  The rain didn't come till in the evening.  We parked the truck in our new house driveway and walked around town all day.
For a small town the parade was surprisingly good and took about an hour.  People started marking out their places along the road about 45 minutes before the start and we just couldn't believe how many people came out to watch the parade.  Cars were parked in every nook and cranny around town.
I only took a couple of pictures and here is one of them.  I love bagpipes so had to snap a photo of them.
I happened to meet a woman who it turns out owns the hair salon in town so it looks like I've already found my new hair dresser.

For my morning walks I've been walking to and around town.  I don't have the lake anymore but there is a nice little pond and I still see lots of wildlife.  There are farms about too so I see cows horses also.
I came across this tiny little nest this morning.
The weather here has been beautiful sunny days but some part of the day it clouds up and the rains come.  I took this picture from the doorway of the trailer.  You can see the rain pouring off the awning.  The rain doesn't last long and not long after the sun is out again.
We are enjoying our trailer time but will be glad when we can leave it and move into the house.  : )  Sure glad it wasn't the 6 weeks that we thought it would be.

So that's it for now.
Trying to get around to visiting blogs but I'm afraid I'm getting more and more behind.

A happy day to you my friends.

The parade sounds like fun! I love bagpipes, too! Doesn't it feel good to be able to count down the days before you will move into the house?

Six more days is doable! My goodness, time does fly. I think it's so great that you've met your new hairdresser while your hair still looks the way Cheryl did it. I love bagpipes, too. I find them haunting and thrilling all rolled into one.

That sounds great! It sounds like a nice town. six weeks would have been tedious but this time will fly by.

Small town life is going to be wonderful, for you. :-) You keep finding more and more delightful aspects of it.

Here is an idea! Simply blog, that you will be back to visiting in and commenting in blogs...... When life settles down... Doesn't that sound like a good idea?

If you get to some, fine. If you don't get to all, fine also. Everyone will understand! You are living IN TRANSITION. Can't be expected to be running around to all blog friends, at this time.

"Auntie" sezzzzzz... :-)

Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"

Time is passing quickly, probably not so much for you. You are doing well in the trailer, it has to be difficult in this heat. Your walks are very interesting in the new environment. Small town America, parades are an event. Next parade is probably set for Labor Day. You'll be all moved in and unpacked by then!

I used to love going to the parade in Havre de Grace. A big event in small towns. Keep enjoying your vacation!
