Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A guest walker around the lake

I walked around the lake this morning with Cheryl.  As most of you know I met her through blogging about 5 years ago.  She is also my hair dresser and a very special friend of mine. : ) She lives only 14 miles away.  She got to my house at 7:30 this morning.  Before she got there I walked 2.5 miles around the neighborhood.  I found a penny in the liquor store parking lot.

When Cheryl arrived we headed directly to the lake.  It was a gray humid morning and seemed like it would rain but it never did.  It was 65 degrees.  It was nice showing Cheryl my lake and I pointed out things to her that she has seen on my blog.  We saw the white egret and the heron.  A rabbit or two, some birds, and a little frog.  Strange that we only saw a few geese.  Wonder where they all got to.

There were a fair amount of people about  but only saw a couple that I knew.  Walking a bit later there were different people there.   We talked our way around the lake and before we knew it we were heading back home.

Our walk together was a bit over 5 miles so I got a good long walk in this morning of about 7.5 miles.

When we got back home Ken had gone to Panera's and surprised us with breakfast so we had breakfast together and then Cheryl left.
It was really nice having Cheryl walk the lake with me. : )

A picture of my little front yard.
(at least for a little while longer)
For part of the day we've been boxing things up.  Ken is working down stairs and lining things up for a truck load.  I've packed most of my stuff up from the loft - all my yarn, and all that goes with that and crafts.  I remembered to leave a couple knitting projects and my weave-it loom out so I'll have something to do.

We are going out in a little while to do a few errands, stop at a friends house and then I'm hoping to have supper out somewhere. : )

Hope you're enjoying your Monday.

Betsy - for now we will be storing our house stuff in the shed until we can move in the new house.  Eventually it will be a wood shop.

What fun to have Cheryl join you for real! I mean, you do have a lot of company on your walks though it is not usually in real time.

I didn't realize that you and Cheryl had met through blogging. How fun that she could join you on your walk and how sweet of Ken to surprise you with breakfast. I thought for sure there would be pictures of that breakfast :).
Your yard is looking so pretty.

How neat that your friend met with you --and spent some time with you. I know you enjoyed seeing her. That is one gal you will miss once you move.

That was nice of Ken bringing breakfast back for you all..

Have a great evening.
Hugs,
Betsy

I'm so glad I got to share your lake with you. It was a good memory to make, and we'll always remember it. I'll look forward to a fall foliage walk with you up at HT.
