Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Our little stream

I walked down the hill and up the hill to town this morning.  It was a mild 50 degrees and as I walked the sun came out and I saw more and more blue sky.
Only walked around two of the cemeteries because the road was closed to one of them as workers dug up the road to put in new storm drains under the road.

When I walked around the little pond in town there were some geese swimming around and this one duck was walking around.  Don't know what kind he is.  He was pretty big.
Ken came to pick me up at 8:30 and by that time I had walked 6.6 miles.

We found some water last night and filled up the 55 gallon barrel that we have in the back of the truck.  We got all the pink stuff out of the water system in the trailer and have a full tank of fresh water but we hit a snag.  The valve for the hot water broke so we have running cold water, just no hot water.  So again no hot showers.  But Ken is handy and I'm sure by tomorrow he will have it fixed. : )  In the meantime it's sponge baths.  I put a soaking wet wash cloth in the microwave for 30 seconds and have hot water for washing. : )

A nice warm sunny day up here at Happy Trails.  This morning I cleared some branches out of our little stream.
As promised Auntie here is a picture of our stream.
We ate breakfast and lunch at the trailer but went out again for supper.  Tonight we went to a new place called The Mountain State Brewing Co.  They make a real good brick oven flat bread pizza.  A coworker of Ken's recommended the place.  It gives Brenda's good competition!  Afterwards we stopped at Lowe's so Ken could pick up some parts for the water heater.

So that's it for today.  It's been a good one.
Hope your day has been sunny and bright.
Happyone  : )

I love your stream. And I would love to try that Mountain State Brewing Company.

The stream looks like a peaceful place. If it's not one thing, it's another. Here's hoping your husband is able to make that water heater repair without complication.

When we don't have something (like hot water) that is when we really appreciate it! Hope you get everything working properly soon! Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures. Enjoy your week!

Your stream is beautiful.
You did a great job getting the pink stuff out of your water system. I'm sure you'll get that
water heater repaired and be all set to enjoy your place.

You know what I really love? The sound of a stream. The gentle sound as it pours over the stones and rocks. I love it.

Sweet little stream chugging through the woods. I'd have to put a bench out there so I could sit and listen to it gurgle. Good thing your hubby is handy now that you're roughing it on the land. =D
