Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pumpkin Cookies

37 degrees this morning and I thought just a cloudy morning.  I walked on over to the lake and that is when a very light rain started.  It stopped and started a few times, but not enough to get me wet, just a little damp.  I think the rain caught everyone off guard because there was more people out than usual on a rainy morning.

I saw a couple of deer and another fox!  As I mentioned I don't usually see them very often and it's even more rare to see them by the lake.

The cones were gone today so people were parked in the main parking lot again and I couldn't tell what work got done.  They sure didn't pave anything.

By the time I was close to home, about 1/4 mile it started raining a bit harder.  I walked through the little shopping center under cover which is right across the street from my townhouse.  Got a bit wet but was soon home in my nice warm dry house.

A rare day that I don't take any pictures and this was one of them.

I took 12,524 steps on my walk.

I was going to make a pumpkin pie but decided to make pumpkin cookies instead.  This is a new recipe for me.  I had to eat one to make sure they came out good - and oh yes, they came very good. : )
Mixing it up
Out of the oven
Cooled, iced and ready to eat.
I wrapped the presents I bought and wrote out some Christmas cards. Just going to do a little each day so it doesn't become a chore again.

I haven't tackled the phone again yet and I think I'm going to give it another day and then just do it.  How hard can this be?  Little children can figure it out!!

I have some cleaning to do and then I will read or knit for the rest of the afternoon.

Friday seemed to come around awfully fast this week.  Hope yours is a happy day and sunshine surrounds you.
Happyone  : )
And you will have joy and gladness,
and many will rejoice at His birth.

Yay it's pizza night again! That's what I just informed John and he seemed pleased. The thought of leftover chili isn't too appealing to him I guess.

You made me laugh out loud: "How hard can this be? Little children can figure it out!!" Based on that, it can be very, very hard indeed. Good luck with it.

I don't think I've ever had pumpkin cookies, but I'd like to try them.

"How hard can this be?" you ask! Harder than you could ever imagine!:)

Of course, the best test for a cookie is to taste it!

Sounds like a good day you're having!

You'll get the hang of your new phone. Are Trac phones all touch screen now?

I'll be up near Happy Trails Christmas week. Will you be there? Lets talk.

Funny how fast the Fridays roll around as Christmas gets closer! Good luck with your phone.

Those cooled and iced cookies look yummmmmmmmy-delicious.

As to the idea that "small children can do these techy things," true. Trouble is, we NEED access to "children," to do this ding-dang setting-up, for us. -chuckle-
