This morning it was very foggy but it wasn't raining and it was 48 degrees. It sure felt good to walk after missing yesterday. I walked around the lake. There were quite a few people there but most of them were runners. There was a pack of about a dozen or so of them all in a group. I saw a few of the regulars too.
Two deer were on the path to the lake and I saw a hawk and a couple of tiny little gray birds with a little bit of white on their wings but don't know what kind they were.
Still foggy when I was back home again.
Took 13,478 steps on the walk.

I finished reading a book yesterday, One Perfect Word, by Debbie Macomber. Each year she picks a word and focuses on this word for the entire year. In the book she talks about the different words she has picked throughout the years and how it has effected her life.I've decided to pick a word and give it a try. I'm been thinking and praying about what word I should pick while reading the book and a word has jumped out at me. I'll write about it at the start of the new year.
I am happy to say that I'm coming along fine with my new cell phone. I've set up my voice mail, added some contacts and can make and receive calls now. I think now its just a matter of using it and before long it will feel comfortable. I've even made my first text with it. : )
It's been a dreary, cloudy day. I was going to go out and buy Ken his Christmas gifts but decided to stay home and go out when it's nicer out. I have to go out tomorrow anyway so I'll just make a day of it.
I've gotten a start on the house chores for the week and the rest of the day is for reading, knitting and maybe writing out a few more Christmas cards.
I've notice walking in the morning that quite a lot of people leave their Christmas lights on all night and turn them off in the morning. Just the opposite of me. I turn them on in the morning and turn them off when I go to bed. It sure brightens the house up on a dreary day like this to have the Christmas lights on.
Hope your Monday is a happy one.

And the angel said to her,
do not be afraid, Mary,
for you have found favor with God.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb
and bear a son,
and you shall call his name Jesus.

We leave outside lights on all night because we are tired of going outside to pull the plug in the dark. Whoever didn't think of a switch ought to be kicked, but it was probably moi.
Glad that you got that phone licked. In a battle with a phone, a gal needs to come out ahead. ☺
I am glad you like your new phone. I have ordered a new phone as well, I look forward to get it.
It sounds as though you are making great progress with the new phone!
We turn our lights off at night, too. Usually we don't turn them on during the day, but today we've had rain and clouds all day, so the lights help brighten up the place.:-)
Glad you got your phone working and also that you had a great visit with the grandkids. I sure miss mine, but the ones who moved to Utah will be back around Christmas so we will see them then! The ones from California might come too...(hope, hope, hope)...That book you read sounds good...I may give that one a try. My goal for the year is to read much more uplifting things. I try to read good, uplifting things, but some books turn into such depressing downers and I want to avoid that! Enjoy your Monday!
I know it must be a good feeling to have your new phone under control. I have yet to send a text on any phone, so I am impressed.
My husband has all of our Christmas lights inside and out set up on timers. They go on at dusk and off around 11:00. So nice to not have to go around plugging and unplugging. If the day is gloomy and I want a tree lit, I just override the timer.
I look forward to hearing what your word will be. I have read about other bloggers doing this before and it sounds like a good idea.
I usually turn my Christmas lights off when I go to bed as well, with the exception of my Christmas tree.
I am glad you have the new phone mastered!
You know what I'll say, about that extra hour of sleep... Your body need it, somehow. :-)
I put Christmas lights on in the rooms we are currently in. I'm in the process of kind of hording time on my still-softly-pretty faerie lights, because I can't get them any more. -SIGHHHHHH- So the tree doesn't go on, and the mantle faerie lights don't go on, until we are in the heart room.
But all go off at bedtime! Even outside decoration lights, are on a timer. Only thing that stays on all night, is the front light beside the front door. All night, all 365 days of the year. So it's USUAL.
I *hate* it when people go away, and "advertise" the fact, by doing unusual things with their lights. -sigh-

Glad you're getting the hang of the cell phone!
Such a pretty place to go for a walk!
You inspire me, to get out and get walking again!
We work our lights the same way that you do...on in the early morning throughout the day and into the night. When I go to bed, the lights go off.
I love Debbie Macomber... I need to check out the book that you mentioned.
Enjoy this wonderful Christmas season.
