I had a nice walk around the lake. A handful of people were out and a boat or two on the lake with fishermen have a relaxing start to their day.
Walking over the red footbridge I stopped to watch a heron standing in the water at the edge. Later on the path behind on the church on the way home I saw another one. It could even have been the same one. He flew down low over the water and perched on a branch. You can barely seem him here in the middle of the picture.
Another most enjoyable walk this morning to give me a good start to another day.
I walked 6.3 miles.

Did the usual house chores. You know what they say about house cleaning. It's something no one notices unless you don't do it. I notice though and feel better when I know everything is clean and shiny.I did some knitting today and finished the slippers I was making for Mary Jo. I've put a picture of them on my other blog and if you'd like to see them click HERE. I'm going to make a pair for myself next.
Puttering around here for the rest of the afternoon. Have some more work I could do but I don't really feel like doing it. After all it's Friday! : )
Hope your Friday is a good one.
Happyone : )
A thankful heart at the start of the day,
lets you find happiness all through your day.

Vee - No, I learned years ago to let Ken clean up his own stuff. : )
Cheryl - Yes, I've been to Coal Fire and the Margherita pizza is my favorite one there.

I have made many a pair of knitted slippers in my day. They are quick and easy to make. I like the colors you chose for yours. Beautiful!
I don't like getting up in the dark!
Does this dark o'thirty business mean that you'll be heading out a little later soon? Interesting to read your discussion of how acute your hearing is when it's dark.
Beautiful blue heron!
I have been housecleaning all afternoon. On a rainy day, it just feels like the only logical thing to do. This evening, I'll add a length of fabric to my ever-shrinking shower curtain and then I'll be done until breakfast dishes.
Good plan about cleaning just your side of the garage. Our stuff, however, has decided to marry each other and so it's all over the place out there.
In a few weeks the time will change, and you will be able to begin your walk in daylight.:) Your day sounds quite productive!
Love the pictures from your walk. Maryland is such a beautiful state. You are sure right about house cleaning! Do you ever watch one of the shows about hoarding? Those shows always inspire me to clean something out and throw stuff away. I'm with you...I like things clean, straight and organized. Enjoy your weekend!
I admire you for getting up and out so early in the morning.
Cute slippers!
Good for you, getting out early. I actually much like walking in the dark, as long as traffic is safe. I will always remember being in Abingdon, VA on business and getting up early to walk miles in the pitch dark on the Virginia Creeper trail - listening to frogs calling and streams running. Could not see a thing but it was so cool! Art
You wrote a very beautiful description of your walk, especially the sounds.
I'm excited about my slippers! I can't believe you finished them so quickly. I'm going now to the blog and sneak a peek! MJ
Cool post! Explaining the sounds you hear, on your walk... And different sounds, at different time.
Interesting 'take' on description of a walk. Shows there is always some thing new, to notice!
Happy Full Harvest Moon,

I'm glad we like the same pizza!
I imagine you hear the sounds of acorns falling from the trees?
When I bike I'm aware of smells. The most prevalent is fabric softener!
