Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

Pretty Petunias

A nice cool start to the day with a temperature of 52 degrees for my walk this morning.  A mixture of sun and clouds once sunrise came.

I walked one of my connect the path routes but before starting it I walked up to the liquor store to see if there were any coins in the parking lot.  No luck today.  Hasn't been a good month for coins, but there is still one more day to the month.
There were people scattered all along the way I walked, not a lot but they seemed to be spaced out evenly.
I saw a deer and her two babies along one of the paths and a flicker woodpecker came flying past me and landed high in a tree in someones yard.

On the last path I came across my walking friends Petey and John and stopped to talk to them for a bit.  They are both still healthy and smiling. : ) They inspire me with their walking and attitude.

Walking past the schools I saw an exercise group of about 8 women doing exercises on the grass.  On the other side of the school people were meeting up with their dogs where they let them off their leads so they can play together.

By the time I got home I had walked 6.6 miles.

We had the first showing of the house yesterday.  The man liked it but is not interested in buying it.  Needs too much work to make it work for him.  Oh well, that is only the first person.

Ken was out this morning but came home to bring me out to lunch.  We went to a favorite place of ours in Mt Airy.  : )

Stopped at Weis to get some ice cream and stuff to make BLT's for supper.  We use bacon bits on our sandwiches.

On the way to Weis I commented on the pretty petunias growing in the median by the traffic light.  On the way out we got the red light and Ken hopped out of the truck and picked a couple of the petunias and handed them to me.  When we got home I put them in a blue bottle and have it sitting right by my computer to remind me of how thoughtful and romantic Ken is.  : )
Right now he's down in the garage straightening up his side of the garage.  After seeing my side I guess it gave him the idea to do his side too!

I took down the summer wreath from the front door and hung up the fall one.  Now fall is officially here!

We're home for the rest of the day now.  I hope to get a little reading done.

Hope your Saturday is sunny and bright.

seem like the end
may also be only the beginning.

 Comment replies from yesterday:
Vee - No, I leave at the same time all year long.  I have to walk first thing in the morning when I get up.
JonesFamily - Yes, I have seen some of those hoarding shows and they are so hard to watch.  So sad! There is no way I could live like that!!!

  1. I like the petunias in the blue vase, very pretty. That was a very romantic thing that Ken did.

  2. The petunias are a very cheerful sight!

I'm glad to hear you look for dropped coins. So do I, and it's always interesting to me how people don't realize they have dropped them. I keep up with every penny!:)

    Enjoy your evening!

  3. Very pretty posies that Ken stole for you! Hahahahahahahahaha...I am just kidding!

Right. That's only the first guy. There'll be more and it will be the perfect home for someone just as it was for you while you had it.

Funny how that setting a good example works sometimes. My garage is a fright show.

  4. Your husband must be a guy. We had such a busy Saturday...no time to straighten the garage although when we were pulling the car in this evening, my husband said he sure did need to do it and it reminded me of your posts. You are an inspiration even to people who don't read your blog! Real Estate sales are supposedly really picking up now, so no doubt you will have a buyer before long! Have a good Sunday tomorrow.

  5. Ooops, I meant your husband must be a SWEET guy...obviously he is a guy. Sorry, my fingers sometimes go faster than my brain! :-D

  6. Oh, the petunia and Ken story. Sooo sweeeeet! :-)

Guess someone mentioned those Hoarder Shows on tv, since you replied, above.

I can't watch them. They are too much for me. Thought I could watch and feel all-smug, that we are getting rid of "stuff." But I can't watch. Those poor people are SICK. It's too sad, to watch.

    On with Out-With-"Stuff"! -grin-

  7. Ken gets points for the petunias! That was a very impressive gesture. You displayed them beautifully in the blue bottle. MJ
