Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home today

I didn't look at the thermometer this morning but it was a hot one out there.  The sun was shining and there were no breezes at all. I walked around the lake and at least being near water made it seem a little cooler.
This picture is of the upper path I walk called the Bunny Trail, and yes there are lots of rabbits along it. : )
Not many people or animals about.  A nice quiet walk and as always it was so nice to be outside early taking my morning walk. : )
The Giant was nice enough to be watering the grass and flowers because once again I cooled off in the sprinkler.
I walked 6.2 miles.
Didn't find any coins yesterday or today but my coin total for the month of July is 85 cents - 2 quarters, 1 dime, 2 nickel, and 15 pennies.

I was going to go over to the old house this morning and mow the lawn but it was just too hot and I really didn't feel like it.  Maybe this weekend.  We are not going up to our land this weekend.  We are spending so much time there building that we haven't been getting the old house ready to sell and we really want to have it on the market this month.  Ken is pretty much done with all the little repairs and painting on the inside.  I will give it one real good cleaning just before we list it.  Now we have to get the outside looking a good.  A power wash and painting of the porch and fence should do the trick.

I gave myself a treat this morning and made a pancake for my breakfast.  I added strawberries and a banana to it.  I had just the exact amount of milk left to make the pancake and have a cup of it to drink.  I like to drink down a nice cold glass of milk after the pancake.  It kinda tops the whole thing off for me. : )

It's a home day for me today.  I'll be here all day.  For sure I'm going to make time to read some more of Little Women which I feel like I've been reading for ever so long.  I think that its just that I don't like it that much and it just doesn't hold my interest like it did the first time I read it when I was a kid.  In fact, I've just decided I'm NOT going to finish it.  I'll pick out another book later to read.

Hope your day is bright and sunny.

Your treasure chest of coins is growing, and when I see a coin on the ground I think "in God we trust", a sweet moment and reminder to me.

I always think of my husband when I find a coin on the ground. I think that he is sending me a message.

The days are beginning to grow shorter and soon the dreaded heat will pass.

Good decision. Why read that when there are many other books you would enjoy more? MJ

Life's too short to waste time reading a book that no longer interests you. Good decision. Watch the movie...love the movie. It'll provide closure, if you need it.

Today is only in the mid 70s, but the humidity is off the charts. I can hardly get a breath. Nasty pea soup atmosphere.

Tell us if you find something good to read. I'm always looking for a good book.

It's always disappointing to start reading a book that you end up not really liking. Hope you can find something that will interest you more. It is still very hot here but a lot more humid than it normally is. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Good luck with your housing plans - I hope your house market is better than in the UK. Your pancake sounded so good I am going to make some this afternoon!

I am a big believer that if you aren't enjoying a book, you should stop reading and pick something else. I have an 80 page rule - if I don't care about the story or the characters in 80 pages, I stop. There are just soooo many good books to choose from to spend time on something that you aren't totally into. I sort of do the same thing with audio books - I give it about 4 hours of listening.
