Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A little something

It was 69 degrees out this morning and another humid one.  I started out by walking over to the liquor store parking lot to pick up any coins I might find, but didn't see any today.
Then walked to a path which is about a half mile from home.  There are many paths all through the woods and neighborhoods and the one I walked on today runs along a little stream and has off shoot paths up to some of the streets.  I decided to stay on this one path because it was cooler under the trees by the water.  As I came to an off shoot I walked up each one to the road and then back down to the main path and continued on.  When I got to the end of the path I turned around and just walked straight back home.
Along the path I saw a couple of other walkers and a runner and quite a few people walking dogs.  I heard lots of bird chirping away but didn't see any other wildlife.  I think the all the dogs must have made the wildlife go into hiding.
It was a nice walk and somewhat cooler walking in the shade.
I walked 6.5 miles.

It seems strange being home on a Friday.  It's been a while since we haven't gone up to the land on a weekend.

I picked out my next book from among the many waiting to be read on my shelves.  I chose an Agatha Christie book.  It has four complete novels in it.  The first one is  Caribbean Mystery, second is Nemesis, third Murder in Mesopotamia, and the fourth and last Appointment With Death.

Last night after supper we went out to get some ice cream.  We got Edy's this time because they were having a good sale.  I had some chocolate chip mint for my snack and it was good but I like Turkey Hill brand better.
We also picked up a watermelon and I am looking forward to having some later today.  I think it would be a good dessert after supper to eat out on the deck.  I think it is always nice to have some little thing to look forward to during the day. A little something that when you think of it, it makes you smile. : )

Home today again but I enjoy being home doing this and that around the house.

Hope your day finds you smiling often.

A puttery day is a very good one. I wish that we got Turkey Hill...I think we usually get Hershey's French Vanilla or Gifford's Caramel Caribou. I do buy the sales, though. Wonder if Edy's is on sale here. John brought home Italians for lunch (sandwiches). They were so tasty because they're able to find ripe local tomatoes. Hmmm...

Have a fun weekend at home and don't find too much to do!

I had to go back to work yesterday (summer break over for us teachers) so I am a little envious of you being home today (not really envious, but it does sound oh so nice!) I am also a bit of home body...home is the best place in the world! I always enjoy your sweet, positive posts!

I like the Agatha Christie novels - we were in Torquay last year which is Agatha Christie country. I enjoy a quiet day catching up on jobs around the house - enjoy your ice cream.
