Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A walk, a ride and ironing

This morning the weather was delightful.  It was 63 degrees with a mixture of clouds and sun, lower humidity and a breeze.  I took a sidewalk route today.  I walked to the end of Gray Rock, crossed the street and then walked back home.  It was a nice walk looking at all the different yards and gardens along the way.  A few people were already out working in their gardens.  It was a perfect morning for that after yesterday's rain.
When I walk this sidewalk route I see mostly runners, but today there were quite a few walkers out as well.
The only wildlife I saw today were birds and they were chirping merrily away.
Though this is a nice walk and different than usual it makes me appreciate having the lake and all the paths through the neighborhoods to walk along even more! : )
I walked 6.4 miles.

I've been home the last couple of days and I didn't have anywhere I had to go today but it was such a pretty day that I decided to get in my car and go for ride.  I went where there wasn't any traffic and drove along some windy back roads.  Had the windows open and just enjoyed riding along.  My car is great on curves and hugs the road.  A real pleasure to drive. : )

I got seven of Ken's work shirts ironed upstairs while watching a DVD on my laptop.  It worked out great and I'm glad I decided to put the ironing board up there.  I still have a couple of shirts to iron but it was nice to just leave, walk away and close the door.

I still have a few things to do around the house and do some blog reading.
Ken is working late tonight so I have some extra time on my own.  I am going to make pancakes for my supper. : )

Hope all is well in your part of the world.
A happy day to you.

That sounds like a very good day, and I like the concluding quote. I have a gorgeous place to walk too, along the Pacific Ocean. This neighborhood walk you took for a change sounds nice.

Sounds like a lovely day. Your weather sounds perfect. I love that you are a walker! I love to walk to and just got the ok from my doctor this morning to begin walking again after sugery! I love pancakes for dinner too. I also like your idea for ironing. I iron all my husband's shirts and my work clothes but usually find it boring and tiring. Watching movies might help because ther is usually nothing on TV. Thanks for this post!

I think you've perfectly described my day for tomorrow. The sun is just now breaking out in time for a lovely sunset.

Your ironing room sounds perfect to me. I only have a radio in my sewing room. Perhaps I need to add a few more amenities to get things truly accomplished.

I meant to tell you something yesterday when I discovered that I was still sitting here twiddling my thumbs when returning to shut the computer down. I hate when that happens. Anyway, the gist of it was that I really appreciate your balanced approach to eating and exercise and it made me grin to think of your discomfort with the drill sergeant's approach. I liked your comment that exercise should be fun. I do not think of it that way hence my problem.

Wish I could have walked along with you this morning. I love to see other people's gardens and the low humidity sounds great too.
Your new ironing room sounds perfect.
Enjoy your pancakes.

What I would give for some 'me' time just now - what with hospital appts, looking after elderly family, paper work, housework..... the list goes on. Enjoy your pancakes.

Your area has lots of lovely places, to take a walk. Actually mine does too. Paths on a college campus and many, many streets past pretty places.

When I am finished with this latest medicine, which finally worked!!!... I can be out in the sun again. It's one of those meds, which have (no sun) rules with it.

What happens? Do you burn-to-a-crisp in minutes? ,-) But, I follow such "orders." :-) Not wanting to find out.
