Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A deck is started

We had a great nights sleep on a queen sized bed in our lovely new trailer.  It's bigger than our bed at home which is just a full size!
Love the trailer.  It is all we hoped it would be.

We decided that it would be nice to have a little deck by the trailer to sit on and enjoy looking out into the woods where one day our cabin will be.  So first thing this morning after breakfast we headed out to Lowes and bought some wood to get it started.
This morning it looked liked this right out side the door.
Some hours later the framing of the deck was done.
We still have to put up the railings and of course the decking.  The Lowes we went to didn't have the dark gray decking we wanted so we will get some this week down this way and finish it next week, weather permitting.  Those shingles on the tractor barn will just have to wait a bit longer to get done!!

This is what we see from the deck.  Some day our cabin will be down there.  The little stream is down in there too though there is very little water in it right now.

Ken worked some more on the road he is making and I took this picture of him in the woods from the deck.
We left about 6 to come back home, traffic was light and we were home a little after 8:00.  Had some supper and I thought I'd write a quick post.

Hope your Saturday was a good one.

My son's trailer has a deck off the front as well. We spent a lot of time on it during our visit. His trailer had a pull out awning on it that covered the deck.

I admire you & Ken's "can do" spirit. You've wasted no time in making that deck become a reality.
Hooray for a good night's sleep in a comfy bed.

You guys do fantastic work!!! What a team you make!

And, betcha' I see a new bed-at-home, in your future. :-) A home queen size would be super, really.

It's very exciting with all the decking in place. I think it would be a great place to sit and just watch.

Wonderful that you did something different and built a deck instead of the shingling. I can see where you'll have a nice cozy getaway.

Your spot is so nice. I would love to have a little cabin in the mountains but that is not happening any time soon. So I will keep "visiting" yours as it comes to life. Enjoy!
