Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home and cleaning

There was a thunderstorm over night and this morning it was foggy and a warm 60 degrees.  I walked around the lake and stayed on the lower path and walked in the opposite direction than I usually go.
Quite a few people out around the lake walking, running and fishing.  Here is a fisherman out in his boat fishing in the fog.  I had just seen him catch a fish and then throw it back in.
The heron was standing by the edge of the water and he flew off as I walked by.  I smiled when I saw one female mallard duck swimming with four males all in a row behind her.
I saw three deer on the path leading to the lake.  Since I took the shorter route around the lake I walked a little way down the sidewalk before heading back home.  Walked past the liquor store and found my first coin for the month of May, a lucky penny.
Didn't find many coins last month - only 39 cents - 2 dimes, 2 nickel and 9 pennies.
I walked 6 miles this morning.
********************
It was still foggy when I got back from walking but I did some laundry anyway because it was supposed to be sunny and warm later on and by the time I had two loads hanging up the sun was out.  But then it got cloudy and felt like rain.  A bit of a breeze came along too so I did get my clothes dried but it still seems like it is going to rain.

So far I've spent the day cleaning.  Can't have too many of those don't do very much days!  Once I got started I didn't mind and just whizzed through what I had to get done.
Taking a bit of a break now and later will finish up a few little things before sitting down to read until Ken comes home from work.

Hope this Friday found you smiling often.

another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door
that we do not see the one
which has been opened for us.

I'm smiling to think of the little duck attracting all the attention. Maybe she's a cheerleader. =D

What a pleasant outlook Helen Keller had on life.

Your day sounds similar to mine. I did some jobs around the house and then read a few chapters. I haven't taken a walk though. Maybe after dinner.
Have a nice weekend.

You and Vee are cleaning, I feel so guilty. It was on my list for April before I started back to work in February. I'm trying to figure out a weekend where I can skip the regular chores and get some organizing and real cleaning house done - donations here I come!!! Good to hear you are back to walking with no trouble at all. I know how much you missed it when you were laid up. I'm anxious to see how things are coming along with your property! I'm sure you'll be headed there for the upcoming long weekend. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Love the quote!

Love the quote. The girl's school I attended had house teams - there were four. Red, blue, yellow and green were the house colours and each of the teams had names. The green team was called Helen Keller. (I was in the red team called Marie Curie.) You were lucky to get your washing dry.
