Quite a few of the regulars out walking and i stopped for a short chat with a couple of them.
I was just thinking that i hadn't seen any deer for a while and there around the next bend was two of them. A male and female. Both took off bouncing into the woods and as soon as they were in the woods they blended in and disappeared. That's probably why i haven't seen any. They are there, they are just blended in among the trees and brush.
This road runs along the path that i walk on to and from the lake. The little stream that i often take pictures of runs between the path and the road and is off to the right.
Once in a while like today i walk on the road instead of the path just for a change.
Another nice walk and today i walked 6.6 miles.

Thanks Giving Challenge Day Number 2
I am Thankful for all the great places i have
for taking my morning walks.
I have a beautiful lake to walk around
and many many paths through the woods
and neighborhoods where i live.
I have streams to walk along
and get to see lots of wildlife.
Walking is something that i enjoy
and living here with all the places to walk
just adds to the enjoyment of it.

Did my usual morning routine and got a load of clothes washed and hung outside on the line to dry.
Then it was time to make the cheesecake. I did find the Keebler brand of graham cracker crumbs at Food Lion. Ken suggested i write Food Lion on the box so next time i won't forget. The cheesecake is easy to make, but it does have a few different steps to it so it takes a while. It is well worth it though because it is the best cheesecake ever. Ken always asks for it for his birthday cake. It will be hard to wait for tomorrow before we can eat it. At least i get to lick the batter bowl and believe me it was good! : ) That's another thing to be thankful for today!!
If you would like the recipe or just to see what it looks like i have it up on my online cookbook at MealsMatter HERE.
After lunch i did some vacuuming and dusting. Just have to get the clothes in off the line, folded and put away and then i will sit back and relax and do some reading.
A very happy day to you and take a smile along with you from me.

At times our own light goes out
and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude
of those who have lighted
the flame within us.

The picture of the water is beautiful!
If I had such beautiful scenery I MIGHT consider walking. Here its either the treadmill (boring) or the hood (scary). Loved looking through your photos, and getting to know you.
I'll be checking back soon.

oooo I will indeed check out your recipe
I love cheesecake
That is one of my favorite quotes! I'm jealous of the bowl you got to lick and the deer you got to see. It's hunting season here and so I am glad that the deer know how to be scarce, though I have seen a few hanging in people's yards. Gruesome, but even that makes me smile because I like to think that it's helping out in these tough times. People are really hurting in my corner.
Good gratitude today! Having safe, beautiful places to walk is a blessing.
Love the pictures and I'm you're 100th follower!
I LOVE the spooky, misty look!!!
And an early Happy Birthday to Ken!!!
Gentle hugs,
"November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring."

Great picture and yes, spooky. After this weekend's time change, things will lighten up for your morning walks. Hope it warms up a bit too, although, I know, you're use to walking in the cold. I love cheesecake, I'm looking forward to trying your recipe, thanks for sharing. Another great quote!
Love the photo of the lake. Oooh - cheese cake! Happy birthday to your husband. My older brother's birthday is today also. He is 65! Art
I love your lake picture. It's definitely frame-worthy. I've had your cheesecake and know first-hand how delicious it is. I copied the recipe from your link to add to my files.
Have a wonderful Thursday!
