Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

I have finished!!!

Another great morning and another walk!  Though i started walking in the dark it was so nice walking in the sunshine of early morning once it rose.  Only 41 degrees and it was brisk and crisp, perfect for walking.  I walked around the lake. The leaves are starting to turn colors and they look so pretty with the sun shining on them reflected in the lake.
It is surprising to see the different clothing people where at this time of the year.  Some people are in hats, gloves, and winter coats and others are only wearing shorts and tee shirts.  I was wearing a long sleeve turtleneck tee shirt, a sweat shirt and a hooded sweat shirt over tights and shorts.  I always wear a ball cap and i had my hood on (put the hood down once the sun came up.)  Obviously i'm the one dressing sensibly!! : )
A few deer were around the lake and the white egret was standing at the waters edge.  A few cardinals and blue jaws were about as well as the usual geese and ducks.
Quite a few people were around too and a few fishermen were in boats.

There were two women walking the opposite way from me who i haven't seen before and as usual i said good morning.  They said good morning back and then asked how far i walk, how often and all the usual walking questions and that it looks so effortless for me.  They were both quite heavy and told me they were mother and daughter who have decided to finally lose the weight and have just started walking.  I saw them again on the other side of the lake as they were huffing and puffing along.  I said, "I see you made it all around the lake.  Good for you! It will get easier and easier each time.  Before you know it you'll be passing me up."  They both laughed and said, " Thanks for the encouragement. See you tomorrow."

Found a couple more coins.  A penny and a nickel.
I walked 6.5 miles.

I stayed home and it was a busy morning for me.  I washed the sheets and got them hung up on the line,  made meatloaf and put it in the slow cooker, ironed Ken's shirts, cleaned the bathrooms and then sewed the nine white squares together in a strip.
After a late lunch i sewed the strip on to the rest of the squares.  I am so happy to say that the Sample White Afghan turned bedspread is now FINISHED.  I have been working on this on and off for about EIGHT years!!!
I got the sheets off the line, made the bed and put the new white bedspread on it.  There it is!!
Now with that done i plan on sitting in my chair and reading until Ken gets home from work and it will be supper time.

Lots of sunshine around today again in my world.
Hope the sun is shining where you are too.
A smile from me to you.

Oh I so hope those 2 gals keep at their good beginning. Hope you keep seeing them. And that they make progress.

Just hope they won't be so stiff, tomorrow morning, from going too far, too soon, that they stop. -sigh- When one begins again, the bod kind of says; "What's going on here????" I know. ,-)

Your Afghan/bedspread is simply beautifulllllllllllllllllllll! Wow!

Gentle hugs,

I'll put a trinket on."

That is a beauty! A marvelous achievement. You're pretty amazing for keeping at it for eight years!

You have more color in your corner than we do in ours. Weird.

The bedspread is so pretty, Karen. I like the different textures to the squares. It must feel great to have it completed after 8 years.

I agree on the different textures on the squares, absolutely gorgeous, you should be proud! The picture of the trees is beautiful, I love the reflection. Most of your pictures could be framed and sold. You did have a busy day. You make me giggle, dressed in tights and shorts, dressed sensibly!!

Your bedspread is beautiful. Isn't this great walking weather? Your thoughts about the two walkers made me think about the Susan Komen 3-Day I walked two weeks ago. I saw so many people that you would swear could not walk even 10 miles, but somehow, they walked 60. It was actually pretty inspirational to think about. Have a wonderful day. Art from Virginia.
