Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A delightful day : )

This morning the weather was delightful for taking a walk.  The temperature was in the mid 60's with sunshine and a nice cool breeze.  Another day walking around the lake.  I took this picture just as I got to the lake.  Can you spot the morning moon there among the clouds?
The heron was there again and this time I got to watch him flying and then come in for a landing.  Really cool to watch!!
I spotted this bug and stopped to take a picture of it.  He just stayed right on that flower and let me take a picture.  I have no idea what it is.
Lots of people around the lake, walkers, runners, dog walkers, and fishermen at the edge of the lake and in boats.  All enjoying a nice sunny morning.  I stopped to talk to a few of my walker friends.

There are a few of these posts that have just been put in along the lake path.  I'm wondering what new sign I will be reading soon.
I'm at the end of the path here that has just taken me away from the lake along the stream.  I turn right up here and head home.  I live two blocks up the road, but I take a little detour on the way home around the block.
So nice to be out walking in such nice weather.
I walked 6.3 miles.

Last night after supper Ken and I sat out on the deck.  We talked for a while and then he read and I knitted until it was too dark to see.  I love sitting out there in the evening.

Left for my Tuesday knitting group under bright blue skies with lots of big puffy clouds.  Made for perfect weather for sitting outside and knitting.  A couple of new people showed up.  Didn't take a count this week but there must have been about a dozen of us.
I finished knitting a white square with bobbles for the afghan/bedspread and also made four weave-its.

A quick stop at the library to drop off a couple of books and I didn't even go in to look at any books.  Too many at home waiting to be read.  That doesn't usually stop me but I was good today. : )

I had the Lemon Pie flavor of yogurt today for lunch.  I liked that one better than yesterday's Black Forrest.

Just hanging around home this afternoon getting a few things done around the house.

Hope wherever you are you have lots of sunshine today too and you can enjoy some time outside.
A smile from me to you.

It's not only children who grow.
Parents do too.
As much as we watch to see what our children
will do with their lives,
they are watching us to see what we do with ours.

the bug looks like it might be an Assassin Beetle; they're good guys and eat pests.

It was certainly a gorgeous day, more like April or May. I intended to get out walking myself and the day just got away from me. I'm interested in the new posts (signs) too, keep us posted (no pun intended). Love your quote, so true!

I too love this cooler weather... It just makes us all feel good, doesn't it???? BUT---I'm afraid this may be a 'tease' --and that the summer heat will return. Hope not though.... But--it's still August.
Hugs,
Betsy
