This is as close as I could get to the pool without stepping over the string marking where the fence is to go. I didn't want to walk in their yard. There is already water in the pool and looks like people have already been sitting out there!
A fence has started being put up.
From there I just walked around on the sidewalks along the streets. A giant sunflower towers over some pretty flowers below. There were a couple of gold finches around but I couldn't get a picture of them.A deer stands still in a front yard looking like it is a statue. As I approached closer it took off running across the street.
I then made my way over to the school and picked up a path there, walked along the road for a while and got on another path where I saw my walking friends Petey and John (the 89 year olds). Stopped for a little chat with them and then continued on home.
I found three lucky pennies.
I walked 6.5 miles.
13404 steps and I left the house at 6:30 and was back home at 8:15.

I found out what kind of bug that was yesterday that I took a picture of. I had two opinions in the comments and Anita said it was an Assassin Bug which I believe it to be after looking it up HERE. Thanks Anita. : )I have been collecting bookmarks for quite a few years and have quite a lot of them. I keep them all in a tin but I think I'm going to figure out some better way to keep them. Maybe all in a photo album so they can be organized and I'll be able see them better.
Here is just a sample of some of my collection.
I have four bookmarks that my kids made for me when they were little. : )
And this is the latest addition to my collection. It came as a surprise in the mail one day a few weeks ago from a special blogger friend of mine Kim. She was on vacation when she spotted this and she said it made her think of me. She knew I liked ladybugs but I don't think she had any idea that I collect bookmarks. Thanks again Kim! : )I'm enjoying my day at home doing a bit of this and that. A very nice day out and I'll be spending some time out on the deck in a little while.
The first disc of Season 5 of Dexter came in the mail from Netlix so we will be watching that this evening.
Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying your day whatever you may be doing.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )

If the pool is full, it is up and running. :-) With a gunite pool, you can never completely drain it, even for winter. Let the water down to a certain level, drain the pipes and "put it to sleep." But never, never completely drain it. :-)
Thank you for going this way, and showing me!!! You are a SweetHeart! I asked how the pool was coming, and you did it. Fence too. But I'd say that fence is not a deterrent fence. For insurance purposes. That's probably an outer fence, for looks. And a more secure one, will be put up, more around the pool. But.... Don;t know what your rules are, in your area.
WHAT a lovely thing to have said to you!!!! Ask if you have a son, that young!!!!! That's enough to keep one on "Cloud 9", for a week! And it easily proves, that your life style is WORTH it. :-)
Never heard of a collection of book marks. But it makes a perfect collection! Easily stored. Not having to be dusted all the time. Etc. Plus of course, you are a reader! Great idea!!!
Btw, my UTI stopped my nice early morning walks. But today is lovely! Later, when the sun is not as strong, I'm going to WALK! Plus take pictures, to test my camera.
There! I told you! Now I HAVE to walk, don't I? :-))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I have a hard time throwing out bookmarks too. I love the ones your children made - very special!
Hard to tell if it is a community pool or a private home pool. Either way, it sure looks refreshing. I bet you've held onto alot more than booksmarks that your kids made for you. I know each one has a special meaning for you, adding the newest from Kim. Wow, an assassin bug, never heard of it, handy fellow to have around apparently. Your years of walking and exercising have served you well, a well deserved compliment on the 4th grade son. You have the best quotes, this one is a winner too!
You've got quite a collection of bookmarks. Seeing it reminds me that I brought back quite a few from China. I'll have to see if I can dig them up.
Hi Karen, Love your bookmarks... I have a few --but not nearly as many as you have. I've never collected them.
Neat compliment from that woman... I certainly wouldn't want to go back and raise a 4th grader again, would you???? ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Karen,
I've been away from the blog world this week as I'm in Michigan spending time with Norma. Tonight I had a few moments and decided to check up on a few blog friends. Imagine my surprise to see your bookmark collection!! How great and I had no idea I would be adding to a collection. I must say the most precious ones are those made by your kids. So sweet.
Glad you had a nice walk today and received such a lovely compliment too.
Bookmarks must make a great collection. Looks as if you have tons of them. Yes, that was a lovely compliment from the gal wanting to know if you had a son in the 4th grade, but then you do look much younger than your vast years. Ha! Don't shoot me.
I never heard of collecting book marks but it is a great idea.
