Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Shredding and knitting white squares

The air was thick, hot, and steamy at 5:30 this morning when I started walking.  First I walked over to the liquor store looking for coins in the parking lot, but didn't find anything.  Then I walked the connect the path route.  I spotted two deer together and than a lone one later on.  I saw two foxes!  Once in a while I see one but rarely do I see two of them together.  Maybe I'll get lucky and see the babies in the near future.  It sounded like there were more birds than usual around and I had quite a chorus of them to listen to.  A few people were out walking dogs, a couple runners, and a couple walkers.
It was nice walking along the path in the woods.  Time goes by so fast when I'm walking and I can't believe how much time I'm actually out there.
I walked 6.5 miles.

I noticed that my basket of stuff to shred was over flowing so I got out the shredder and had a bit of fun making confetti.

I've been knitting again on the white squares for the sampler afghan I'm making which is really too big to be called an afghan so it is going to be a bedspread for my bed.  I've finished two more squares and when I get done with the one I'm knitting now I will have made 90 squares.  I have one more row to do which is 9 squares and then I will be completely done.
We went out for pizza for supper and were sitting by a window in the restaurant enjoying our pizza and watching cars and people go by.  There is a 4 lane road and we watched a man just stop his car in the right lane out of the blue and start to text right there in the driving lane.  Cars had to swerve around him and he just stayed there until he was finished texting and then moved on.  I just can't believe he stopped right in the middle of the road like that.  I'm surprised we weren't witnesses to an accident!!!

I am going to knit some more on the white square and then later watch another episode of Doc Martin.  We are on the last disc of the third series and are really enjoying it.

We stopped for some ice cream on the way home so we will be having some chocolate ice cream while watching the show.

I want to say THANK YOU for all the good thoughts and prayers for my pastor.  The procedure went well and he is doing fine.  : )

I hope you are enjoying your Friday.

I like the path through the woods - it seems the wildlife was hanging out there this morning. I'm actually very surprised that more people don't get into accidents while using their cell phones. Have a fun weekend.

I hate seeing people texting while driving! So dangerous and I see it all the time.
I've been catching up on blogs and saw what you wrote about your pastor. I know exactly what he went through because I had the same thing done yesterday. Maybe I'll tell about it on my blog soon, but I had one stent yesterday. I spent last night in the hospital and got home this afternoon. Feeling pretty good, just tired and a little sore. I hope he does well with his also.

So glad that your pastor's procedure went well.

Wow that's crazy how the guy stopped in the middle of a four-lane highway to text. Too bad a police officer hadn't happened along.

Have a wonderful weekend!
