Lots of people out and about around the lake early this morning. Walkers, runners, bike riders and fishermen. Some were fishing at the waters edge and others in boats on the lake.
A couple of deer and lots of rabbits, squirrels and all the usual birds and geese were out around the lake too.
I saw some other neighbors who live a few houses down from me. I've never seen them walking around the lake before and have only seen them near the house to say hi to. As I caught up to them I said hi neighbors and we finally introduced ourselves to each other. It's funny how many of my neighbors I have met at the lake.
As you know I find coins sometimes and save them all in glass banks. This penny that I found on Saturday has seen better days. : )
As usual it was so nice being out walking early in the morning and I walked 6.4 miles.

The BBQ we went to on Saturday was very nice. It was at the house of one of Ken's co-workers and she had a great back yard for a party. Not real big but really nice. She lives in an older house and it had a back porch. From the porch you walked down to a stone patio and then a grassy yard with lots of shade from their neighbors trees which over hung a high wooden fence. We had nice time! Lots of food, nice people to talk to and I even made a couple new friends. The weather was perfect. A sunny day, blue sky with huge puffy white clouds.
It won't be long now before our turn lane is finished by our house. I took this picture yesterday. The final layer of pavement needs to be added yet, lines and also the sidewalk.
As I walked passed today they were up on the dirt hill grading it for whatever they are going to plant there.
They are also putting in a left turn lane coming from the other direction too.
Recycling has finally come to my townhouse complex. Last week the blue bins got dropped off at all our houses and today and every Monday is recycling day at my house. : )
Today I will be spending the day at home. I have a few loads of laundry hanging outside on the line drying and a loaf of bread baking in the bread machine. I have some housework to get done and some catching up on visiting my blogging friends. I'll be taking frequent breaks from work to read blogs. : )
I'm hoping for some reading time and knitting later in the day too. I still haven't made that lasagna I planned on last week so I'll be making that tonight for dinner. If Ken is going to be late again, I'm still going to make it and he can heat it up. It tastes great reheated too, if not better.
Enjoy your Monday.
A smile from me to you.

I'm laughing at your quote today because I can sure relate to that one :).
Your weekend sounds like a nice one, especially the BBQ. The blogger in me was itching to see photos of that backyard. It sure sounds like a lovely setting for an outdoor party.
Enjoy your day at home. I always enjoy having one of those after a busy weekend.
oh oh, you have the kind of a comment box on Blogger, which wont allow me to comment from my new wordpress blog.
3 so far. Everyone else's Blogger blog comment box, lets me.
But yours and 2 others, I have to use my old and no longer in use Blogger "comment as." -sighhhh-
????????????????
HI Karen, Glad you had a great weekend and BBQ... It's nice to meet new folks and enjoy time together like that.
We still have to separate our recycling and take it somewhere. We do that every Saturday... Don't know when we will get curbside recycling up here.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

How nice to be meeting your neighbors. It's great when neighbors are friends because one doesn't have far to go.
I made up a meatloaf last week, cut the loaf into small bites for spaghetti sauce and that definitely tasted better the second time around. I love lasagna and I love that a big batch lasts a long time. I suppose that you freeze some for future meals.
Sounds like a nice party and a pleasant atmosphere at Ken's co-worker's home. That's great, too. Almost as good as neighbors.
Mmm - Lasagna. I hope there's enough - I'll be coming to dinner!
Let's see if this will work... Signed out of my Blogger blog...
I can commiserate about the sweating -- but I was soaked after being outside for only 5 minutes! Of course, I don't get up as early as you do...
I upgraded my Internet Explorer to IE 9, which is apparently causing me problems for logging in. If anyone has this problem too, please leave a comment on my blog. I have no idea how to fix it.
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I miss the weather we had for four days already. Today was just terrible with the humidity back.
I usually make Lasagna in the winter time, a great comfort food. Maybe I'll rethink that, your mention of it gave me a taste for it...power of suggestion?
You are so lucky to get bins...we got huge blue and yellow roller trash cans! We made them take ours back, and apparently so did a bunch of other residents as they came with a pick up vehicle as large as the drop off vehicle! TONS of the blue cans on wheels. We'll recycle...but don't need an extra huge cart in our garage!
I thought about you this morning when I was driving to work...it was soooooo hot out! Be careful in the heat!
I'm envious of your curb-side recycling. We recycle, but we have to make a trip to the re ycling center.
We have had recycling at our house for quite some time. We also have those small blue boxes. But we never use it. We could fill that box probably 8 times a week. I use clean plastic recycling bags. We have to buy them but the box was just not useable.
