Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

I was up and out early walking this morning and saw the sun coming up.
I walked my connect the path route and for the first hour didn't see any one else out, but after that I saw a scattering of people about.  I spotted a couple of deer and saw the fox too.  At one point along a path I came across a whole flock of starlings.  There must have been at least 30 birds.  They all took off making a racket as I walked passed them.

A hot humid morning already so early.  We had a thunder storm last night and the paths were littered with leaves and twigs from that.

I came home with a free sample of garbage bags!  On one road all the driveways had garbage bag samples in little plastic wrappers that someone had dropped off for advertising.  One was thrown down at the beginning of one of the paths I walked down, probably thinking it was a driveway.  So I picked it up.  I never know what I'll find on my walks. : )
I walked 6.4 miles.

I finished the animal jigsaw puzzle yesterday that I was doing
and started another.
This is the other one that Ken got at the picnic.

I took this picture yesterday morning when I was walking.
Its a view from the other way of the new turning lane they are putting in.
Ken had to go into work for an hour or so this morning but he will be home soon now.
Many years ago on a 4th of July, Ken and I met for the first time. That day we drank Cold Duck and this morning when I went downstairs there sitting on the counter was a card propped up against a bottle of Cold Duck. : )  Isn't he a sweetheart for remembering!?  I got teary eyed and when I read the card I cried.
I haven't drank Cold Duck in many years and don't know whether we will actually drink any but I love that he bought it.  I am so very happy and proud that this man is my husband!!

No big plans for today.  Just a nice day around home relaxing and enjoying the day.  We will grill some hotdogs out on the deck, eat some salads, chips, and have some of a nice big juicy watermelon that we bought yesterday.  Of course I'll toast some marshmallows over the coals too. : )
Who knows we may even drink some of that Cold Duck.

Hope you enjoy your day.
Happy 4th of July.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I  won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

What a sweet and romantic thing for Ken to do. I remember my parents drank Cold Duck years ago. I haven't heard about it in a long time.
Your day sounds like it will be nice and relaxing. Enjoy and I think you should have a toast with your Cold Duck. Happy 4th of July.

Happy Anniversary of your first meeting. Everyone should meet on the 4th of July so it can be remembered. ☺ Ken's a sweetheart and as Cheryl says, you deserve such a man. Enjoy that Cold Duck. You must have, at least, a toast.
