A lot of people out around the lake enjoying their morning outing. Not many animals about. I just saw the usual birds, ducks and geese. Three geese were swimming their way across the water with the V wake behind them getting wider and wider. They looked so peaceful out there.
A quiet uneventful walk but oh so nice.
I walked 6.4 miles.

Since I didn't make it to the commissary yesterday, I made the trip today. Made out my list and off I went. Renovations are still going on in the store. It seems like it must be going on for a year by now, but I don't think it could really be that long!! Anyway you never know what you will find and where you will find the items you need to get. Like I said before it makes things interesting and you end up talking to more people than usual. Someone always asks me something. : ) I had to wait a while to check out because there was a bit of a line. It is one line and you go to the next checker that is free. Many stores do that now and I think it makes lines move much faster. Handicapped people can go to the head of the line. There was a handicapped man behind me and I asked if he was trying to get to head of the line. He told me no, that he would rather wait his turn in line like everyone else. Then with a smile he said, why should I go to the front of the line, I'm sitting, you all have to stand! A nice man and I liked his attitude! : ) We talked as we waited in line and it made the waiting go that much faster.
I bought some cherries and thought they looked pretty sitting here in the bowl. I ate quite a few of them for lunch. : )
I didn't have time to do a load of laundry before I left so did a load when I got back. With summer here I am able to hang a load out in the afternoon and it will still dry. Winter time the clothes need a lot more time to dry.
All this week my church is having Vacation Bible School and they needed people to bake cakes for the end of the week party. Since I didn't help out with VB all week I figured the least I could do was bake a cake. I baked a chocolate cake this afternoon with chocolate icing. Though I wasn't able to have a piece of it, I did lick the beaters and scrape the bowl clean. One good thing about having no kids living at home. I get to lick the beaters!!
That's about it for now.
Still have the clothes to get off the line and folded and the plan was to make lasagne for dinner, but I feel like going out and having someone wait on me. The lasagne can wait for tomorrow.
Hope all is well in your part of the world and that you are enjoying your day.

I have loved skipping since I was a little girl
and I have never been able to restrain myself
when an open stretch of sidewalk or path beckons me.

HI There, I'm envious of your cooler temps. We are still hot here. Hope we get some relief also SOON.
Eating out sounds nice ---but I'll bet your Lasagna is great also.
I washed a tub of clothes also this morning --but put mine in the dryer today. I don't usually do that (trying to go 'green' a little more) ---but this was a small load of mostly undies --so I just dried them in the dryer. Didn't take long.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy
And he wouldn't go to the head of the line..... Wonderful...
He's a handicapped Veteran, and has such a nice attitude.
Makes me feel pretty silly, for ever having been upset at long lines.
-sigh-

The temps were very nice here this morning too, in the low 60’s I think and perfect for our morning walk as well. Are you guys military or prior military (you mentioned commissary)?
