Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A very nice day

I never did get to go on my walk this morning.  We left at 7:00 to have the yard sale.  It was NOT a success.  Hardly anyone came by and we only sold a few things, but we had fun anyway.  We had an old bugle and here I am trying to play it.  I got some sounds out of it but nothing you would care to hear. : )
Though we didn't get rid of much we did organize it all and ended up cleaning out the garage so it wasn't time wasted.  I also got the front and back yard mowed which was my exercise for the day.

We ended up packing it all up a little after 12:00 and coming back home.  Ken washed the JF while I sat out on the deck making weave-it squares.

Then we went for a ride in his Corvette.  We took the roof off and drove on back roads up to Mt Airy and had supper in our favorite little place where we sat outside and ate.   It's right along the sidewalk and we watched people and cars go by.  There was some sort of car show that was getting over and we watched all the old cars go by.
As luck would have it there was a parking place right out front so we didn't even have to put the roof back on the car when we ate because we could keep an eye on it.

From there we stopped at a car hang out and walked around looking at all the cars.  Stopped at the grocery store before coming home to get some ice cream which I'll be eating later while we watch television.

Last night we watched the new Upstairs, Downstairs and was somewhat disappointed in it.  We like the old one much better. We have another episode on the DVD and will watch that one because it's here but won't get the rest of it.

All in all it was a very nice day!! : )
I guess the world isn't ending today after all.
Hope your day was a happy one too.
Happyone : )

Oh rats! That the sale didn't go well, not the other thing. ☺ Now what? Are you calling an auctioneer, donating or putting it back in storage for another day? I am seriously considering calling the auctioneer. He looks everything over and makes a bid on the lot and hauls it off. Good deal and better than donating sometimes.

Sorry your sale wasn't as successful as it could have been, but getting everything cleaned and organized is awesome.
I think while you were making weave-it squares, Dad was cleaning up his "FJ" Cruiser. -wink
Gotta love riding topless through the woods! I still miss the Jeep.
Kim watches Upstairs Downstairs too!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, love ya

I learned years ago (for me), garage sales, sidewalk sales, call them what you want, don't work. I now cut straight to calling Purple Heart or the Salvation Army. I can't sell snow to Eskimos as they say. Nothing better on a nice summer day than riding with the top down (going topless). It was definitely a car washing kinda day too. Sounds like you had a wonderful day. I'm glad we're still here, and I squeezed in this visit. Have a great weekend!

It is indeed a nice day. Lovely little picnic that you guys had. Here we had a good rain and the weather is just pleasant. The sun is out today though but it feels good on the skin.

Sorry about the sale, but it seems like a great day. taking a ride with the top down would have been the best part for me.
I read your previous post and enjoyed the photos so much. You truly get to see some amazing sites of God's creations.
As always enjoyed my visit.

It was a beautiful day for an open air ride, for sure! My daughter is the garage sale queen. She had one before her last adoption to help defray the epenses (although never would "advertise" it that way). We needed nearly $1000 for a two day sale. Of course, I donated items, the other parents donated items, my sisters pitched in...but still pretty good for just a local home sale. She listed it everywhere, and we had crowds. Still, I think I'd have preferred to have gathered a little jingle together for her than to go through the work (eeeek, how lazy is that?).

Awwwwwwww, I wish I could HEAR you, on that bugle! -grin-

Sorry you didn't sell more but as you said, you got things organized.

Sounds like you had a full and busy day. Sorry to hear your sale wasn't more successful, but it's true that it does force you to sort through things.
The "topless" ride sounds like the highlight of the day.
