Here's the latest pier picture. Workers were laying down this layer of I'm not sure what and there was a couple of trucks loaded with sod which they will put on top of this stuff.
Today I walked my usual 6.4 miles.

I enjoyed my afternoon out on the deck yesterday. I made some weave-it squares like I planned to do. I also read some more of the book One Thousand Gifts. I've read a about a quarter of it and have decided not to read the rest. I know everyone loves this book but I just wasn't getting anything out of it. It's about learning to be thankful for all the little things in life even through the bad times which leads to a happier life. I already understand what she means and have learned this lesson a long time ago. : )I sat out on the deck until I heard Ken's car coming up the street. I snapped this picture of him in his car from the deck.
Here he is again coming around the back to the garage.

Today I (and others) baked chocolate chip cookies for the Easter Egg Hunt at church on Saturday. I didn't eat any cookies, but I probably ate enough cookie dough to have eaten at lease one!!
Then I put two cookies each into 30 little plastic snack bags. They will be given out to the kids who come to the egg hunt.
Lots of people praying for nice weather on Saturday - at least for no rain. : )

I'd better go and take my clothes off the line. They have been getting quite a whipping around the line with all the wind out there today. I'm hoping I didn't lose any clothes to the wind. Who knows someone may end up with an unmentionable plastered to one of their windows by the wind.
Enjoy your day and if you see someone with a smile, give them one of yours.

Happyone : )
The great gift of Easter is hope -
Christian hope which makes us have that confidence in God,
in His ultimate triumph,
and in His goodness and love,
which nothing can shake.

"I learned that lesson long ago." :D And that's why you're "Happyone." I'm cracking up up here. ROFL!
I get what you said---I have so little free time, I really want to make it count! Hubby has been after me to make snickerdoodle cookies--his all time favorites!
You are SO NOT average. You are a breath of fresh air. Don't ever change.
It is evident to me from the things you share on your blog that you have already learned that lesson. It's a good lesson for sure and I think the earlier in life we learn it, the better for us.
I am always impressed by your willpower when baking cookies. I always seem to feel the need to eat 2 or 3. So nice of you and the others to do that for the kids. I hope the weather holds out for them.
I always enjoy reading of your day!
I have heard so much about this book, some good reviews and some not to interested in it. I, Like you have learned to be thankful for the small things through the hard times in life.
Thanks for sharing your day
Sue
Hummm, wonder what they're spreading around the pier, is it sand or material to keep the weeds down, like what is used on a new lawn? I don't blame Ken for taking the Vette in this sunny weather. I wondered where people go to walk in the winter (beside you who endures all), the mall! Walking the mall in the winter may be a little dangerous for me and my fantastic plastic. I love cookie dough, have you tried the ice cream, oh it's yummy. I get the low fat (diet kind) lol! I'll chime in with everyone else...I believe it is the hard times in life that teaches us life lessons. I have lived through a few bad times I don't want to remember. Those bad times make me very thankful of where I am now and the strength and belief it took to get me here. I'm excited about your Easter event. I hope you share some pictures and stories of the day's events, looking forward to it.
It looks like a good day. Today, I think the temperature is gonna be high again. I have finished my other book and now I am beginning with The Pact by Jodi Picoult. And, today we are having a meeting for finalizing our office space. I guess, we would be moving in the next week or so.
-chuckle- Look at that duck pic quickly... Pay more attention to the stripes-looking-part. And think it might be a skunk. Silly me.
Mmmm, now I'm confused. It's lovely to have a garage entrance on the back! But isn't there a garage entrance on the front too? Or am I totally mixed up? Probably!!! :-)
Those cookies look so YUMMY... I would have a hard time baking them (and smelling them as they baked)--without eating SEVERAL... ha ha ... BUT--I'm dieting --so I can't even think of a cookie right now!!!!
Happy Easter
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh those cookies!!! I would have had to have eaten at least 2!!!
