Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Still avoiding the ice

My walk this morning was just about the same as yesterday.  I walked where ever I could to avoid walking on ice.  Not much of it melted yesterday but at least we didn't get any more!  It was quite cold this morning when I started out with a temperature of 17.  Though the sun didn't come out, there was no breeze so it didn't feel that cold.  I wasn't cold anyway with all my layers on.  By the time I got home it was up to 26.  Not sure how warm it's supposed to get today.
There were a few more people out.  I saw a couple of women walking, and four other people walking dogs.  The crows were out again.  I always talk to them because I know they remember faces and maybe some day one of them will remember me and let me take a picture! :-)
A lot of tree branches were broken off because of the heavy snow and ice and they are  scattered all over the place.
It feels so good to be able to walk outside but I am looking forward to when I can get back to the lake again.  The road I would have to walk on to get there (sidewalk NOT cleared) is a busy one so I will just be patient and wait a few more days.
I walked 6.4 miles.
Sunrise 7:12
Sunset 5:31
With the sun rising earlier each day, soon
I'll get to start walking in daylight!

Make your Friday a Happy Day.
Happyone :-)
I never did get a chance to publish another post yesterday but it was just a regular nice normal day.

I waited until the afternoon to walk down and get the mail. Even with the sun out I slid! It was really colder than it looked yesterday. Haven't been out yet today, but it looks cold.

No ice here, but it's cold and rainy. Hope it won't be long until you can walk by your lake again.
Have a great weekend.

I'm glad you're being patient and waiting until the walks and paths are clear before you go to the lake again. Stay safe.

Oh good! Then we'll get to see some more amazing sunrises. Seventeen degrees is not too good for melting snow and ice. Hope it warms up for you...
