Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

More ice this morning

When I get back from walking in the morning I usually write a post about it and then save it in draft.  Then write more later in the day and publish it all at the same time.  Today I'm starting to just write about my walk, publish it, and then will write and publish a post about the rest of my day in the evening.
This morning there was a lot of ice around because of all the melting yesterday and then the refreezing of it all over night.  The temperature was 24 degrees with a slight breeze. Today again my walk was haphazard as I tried to find places that were not ice covered.  The parking lots were out because they had lots of ice.  I walked a lot of the time in the road because this is what a lot of the sidewalks looked like.
As I walked down some of the paths,  I never knew what I would come upon.  Some were cleared, some were not and everything else in between.
Here is one part of the path I walked along.
Happened to walk by this garage and liked the shape of it.
I saw two other people out, both walking dogs.  The only wild life I saw were birds, a more than usual amount of crows.
It was great to be walking outside and I walked 6.1 miles.
January was not a good month for finding coins.  I only found 15 cents for the whole month.
Today I found a penny. :-)
 Sunrise 7:13
Sunset 5:30

Make this day a good one.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone :-)

Sorry to give you this news, but at 15 cents a month, you're going to go broke fast. :D My sister tells me that there's lots of ice in her corner of New York. I'm glad that we escaped it, though it'll come at some point.

We got just a little snow, but lots of freezing weather. Today it is to climb to 32.
Good for you for walking outside. I have been walking on the treadmill and it's just not the same. I don't like looking at the basement walls, but at least I'm walking.
Enjoy your day~

Wow! 6 miles. You are doing great! When the snow clears, perhaps you'll find more coins. At least some of those walkways were cleared for you!

Have you tried YakTraxs or get-a-grips? I have a pair of both, but fortunately I haven't had to use them, so I don't know how well they work on ice. I have read a lot of good reviews on both brands.

Wanda, No I haven't. I don't think I would be able to walk very fast in them.

You do inspire me! I leave for work in the dark and return in the dark, so walking outside is not an option during the winter months...the days are getting longer, though!
