Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Life is good

As you can see I took a few days off from posting.  All has been well.  I went on my morning walks and took a few short walks after dinner too.  I had to get those extra steps in for the competition I was in on Walker Tracker.  I am happy to say I came in at number one with total of 125,846 steps for the 6 days!  It was fun but I don't think I'm going to do another one for a while.  I just got too obsessed with taking steps, which I knew I would.
The last few days have been great days for walking.  Cooler temperatures and sunshine.  I even had to wear long sleeves a day! I've walked around the lake, along my connect the paths route and a make it up along the way route.

I discovered a new kind of ice cream and what makes it really nice is that it is light ice cream and I didn't even know it until after I ate it.  Always good to save a few calories here and there.  This ice cream is really good and its two ice creams in one.  Twin Mint!!  Yummy!  I still miss my old flavor of Chocolate Chip that they changed but I now have a few other favorites to make up for it. :-)

I was in line in Walmart waiting my turn when something in line made me smile.  The lady in front of me gave the checker an empty candy wrapper.  He looked at her and laughed.  She said, "I just got hungry and couldn't wait so I ate it."  I've wanted to do that before but never did. :-)

This morning I had two loads of laundry out on the line drying before leaving for my Tuesday morning knitting group.  I drove the FJ today because it was parked in front of my side of the garage and didn't feel like moving it out of the way so I could get my car out.  This is another fun vehicle to drive but such a difference from my car.  I feel like I'm driving a bus!

We've eaten supper at home for the last few days and tonight is going to be a pizza night.  While knitting outside,  pizza smells from the pizza place near where we sit drifted over and really got me in the mood for pizza.  I'm sure I won't have to twist Ken's arm tonight for him to agree.

I've finished reading another book in the Miss Julia series (Miss Julia Delivers the Goods) and have started on the newest one.  Again they are quick fun books and I enjoy reading them.

I'm off now to get the clothes off the line, folded and put away.  Then I'll sit and read for while till it is time to go and get that pizza.

Hope this Tuesday finds you happy.
Happyone :-)

Congratulations on placing first in the walking competition. I would have been surprised if you weren't the winner with all the walking that you do.
I clicked for a close-up of your new ice cream. Chocolate mint is one of my favorites. How interesting to have 2 flavors in one carton. I haven't seen that brand before. I'll have to see if they carry it around here.
Enjoy your pizza dinner.

Mint ice creams are some of my favorites...so refreshing. I don't imagine that you must worry too much about calories, my friend. Not you! We had wraps...again...for supper. I'm so on a wrap kick that I may not be able to give it up. I think that John might be ready. We're off to get some ice cream very shortly. Tomorrow it's breakfast out as we always go out for breakfast after fasting blood work is done. (No, not mine.)

I went out today for the first time in a week -- over to see Cheryl. It was good to get out.

The ice cream looks luscious!

The ice cream looks great. I like mint choc chip alot. I eat way to much of it.
I have to do my Alz's memory walk Sat. and I have been sick. Most days I ride my stationary bike 4 to 6 miles. But all week I had to make myself go 2 miles and I just hope I can walk Sat. a mile. Wish me luck. Congrats on all your steps! That is great!
