Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A walk, a dresser and a mess

Sunrise 6:21
Sunset 8:02
Today the weather has turned hot and humid again so I was quite hot walking this morning.  On the way to the lake on the path along the stream I came across this toad sitting in the middle of the path. He is about the size of my fist.  He sat perfectly still while I took pictures of him.
Here are the two best ones.

I also saw the deer and her two babies again, the white egret was around and also the heron.  Lots of bunnies and the usual ducks and geese.  It was great to see so much wildlife.
The lake had a mist over it and the water was so calm it looked like a sheet of glass.  I saw many of my walking friends and stopped to talk to a couple of them.  I heard more about the accident that happened along the road by the park last week.  A garbage truck hit a car.   As I heard that I remembered a while back Ken telling me when he left for work one morning and was stopped at the light, a garbage truck came flying down the hill, with the horn blowing and sailed right through the red light.  Looked like the truck had no breaks.  I'm wondering if it was that same truck because it was around the same time and the accident was just up the road at the next light!
I also saw a butterfly sitting on the sidewalk.  It too sat there and let me take pictures.  I posted one of them on my photo blog today.  If you would like to see it click HERE.
I walked 6.3 miles this morning.

The first thing I did today after breakfast and the rest of my morning routine was move into my new dresser.  I went through all my clothes and got everything organized.  I love my new dresser and I now have a place for everything.  As promised here's a picture.
With that done, it was time for lunch which was left over take away Chinese from last night. Next I did a couple of little chores, didn't feel like doing my exercises but did them anyway. Afterwards I was glad I did! :-)
I was going to start cleaning up my loft, but when I got up there and looked at it, I realized that I just didn't feel like tackling that right now.  That needs to be started earlier in the day.  I can't believe how I've let it go up there.  I've just been throwing everything up there every which way.  For those of you who know me, know that I am a very neat person and things are usually just so in my house.  I took these four pictures just to show you that I too can make a mess!! :-)
At the top of the stairs looking into the loft.
 Looking to the left.
 Looking to the right.
Sitting in the corner chair looking at the opposite corner.
Once its all done and straightened up I'll take after pictures.
So instead of getting started on that I'm going to read for a while now.

A very Happy Monday to one and all.
Happyone :-)

I just clicked over to see the butterfly. I never tire of seeing butterflies and that one is gorgeous. I think he would look good in my house. :)
It must be a good feeling to have your new dresser filled and organized. I've spent a good share of the afternoon cleaning my refrigerator. It feels so good now that it's done.
You are brave to show your loft. But, actually, it doesn't look that bad to me. In my house it's the bonus room that seems to get disorganized easily. I guess most houses have at least one spot that gets that way.
Enjoy your reading time.

I hope the frog made it off the path before somebody squooshed him!
A trash truck hit a car -- not hard to decide which got the worst of that. I hope that everyone is okay.
Your loft just looks full -- not messy! :)

I love your pictures of nature. I must walk too late to see such beauties. They have all gone hiding by the time I get out.

You know I love toads. I only saw that one in my garden one day. His house sits empty :((

I remember when I took before and after pictures of my basement. Maybe if I took before ones I'd be motivated to clean for an after?

Happy day!

Glad after that humid walk, you read instead of organizing the loft. You're my kind of gal!
