Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A busy day

 Sunrise 6:17
Sunset 8:08
Would you be surprised if I said it was hot and humid this morning when I walked around the lake?  No, I didn't think so.  Quite a few people out on this hot morning.  Just being near water makes it seem a bit cooler I think. It was very still and the lake looked like glass.  Stopped to chat with a few people I haven't seen in a while.  The bunnies were out eating along the edge of the path again and I saw two white egrets down the small end of the lake.  No deer today.  The grass is so tall that they disappear back there by the trees.
The picture is what the sky looked like when I got to the lake.
I walked 6.7 miles this morning.
The morning didn't start out so good for some people.  While I was walking LOTS of emergency vehicles headed up the road with sirens blaring.  There was a bad traffic accident.  Road was closed in both directions and a medevac helicopter landed in the park so they could medevac someone to the hospital.  Not a good sign. I said a prayer for all involved.

First thing this morning I put the ingredients for Mexican Meatloaf in the slow cooker and got dinner out of the way early.
Then I had a bit of fun shredding a basket full of papers. That is one of my fun jobs.

A good day for drying clothes out on the line so I did three loads.

Finished reading The Shadow of Your Smile by Mary Higgins Clark last night.  I got through it pretty fast and thought it was pretty good.  I like the ending, predictable but happy.

I'm getting a new dresser on Saturday from IKEA and have made room for it in our bedroom.  I moved a desk/dresser out and put it in the spare room.  So while I was at it I fixed up the spare room.
This morning the spare bedroom looked like this.

I took out the file cabinet and moved most of it down in the basement.  I took the draws out but just couldn't get the rest of it down the two flights of stairs.  I'll need some help from Ken for that. I no longer want it so will be getting rid of it.  Then I  moved in the desk/dresser and a television which is for my Wii from our bedroom.  I put stuff away and hung a few pictures up and the spare room now looks like this.

It needs some paint but haven't decided on a color yet.

Ken went out after work today so I ate the meatloaf myself.  Made a baked potato and a salad to go with it.  A nice cold glass of milk and that was my dinner. It was quite tasty.
I've had a busy day and now having eaten and cleaned up the kitchen I'm ready to sit in my chair, relax and start a new book.

Hope your Wednesday was a day that made you smile a lot.

Your day sounds busy, but satisfying. I love those rare times when I use my crock pot. It's such a good feeling that you don't have to be thinking "what's for dinner?"
Your spare bedroom looks nice and neat and cozy.
Enjoy your reading time. I'm off to start dinner.

I'm glad that you take care of yourself and eat healthfully even when you're eating alone. I always say a prayer when the ambulance goes by, too. I am quite certain that many people do. What a comforting thought. It was much cooler...only in the 70s, but the darned humidity is still with us all the same.

Off to check out that Mexican meatloaf recipe. I love meatloaf and I love Mexican so I'm thinking it will be yummy.

Your photo of the sky, when you got to the lake, was lovely! Worth the hot walk. :-)

I still can't manage to brave a hot walk, but... The Seasons are changing! -happy sigh-
