Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home

As I stepped out the door this morning, I thought oh, it's not so hot today. Well, a couple miles later I felt differently. I must be getting used to it a bit and it just takes a little longer to feel the heat now! :-)
I walked my connect the path route with a slight change to the route. I just cut into the path again in a different place. It makes the route flow better. I was lucky to spot a heron by the stream and also a deer.
Quite a few people out walking, running, biking and walking dogs getting their exercise before it gets too hot. While I was walking some one said to me, "You walk fast but look like you're taking a stroll in the park."
The picture is of one of the foot bridges I walked over.

I'm staying home today not doing very much work. Just a few things that HAVE to be done. I've been doing a lot of reading this morning. I realized I am in the stages of reading five different books!! I usually have a couple going at the same time, but 5 is a bit too many. I am going to concentrate on one at a time until all five books are finished before starting on any more.

I was up in my loft and realized it has become a mess again. I just can't seem to keep that place neat. That is one of the reasons why I like it though. I can just keep everything out and work on whatever I feel like at the moment.
Knitting
Reading
Weave-its
Needlepoint
Counted Cross Stitch
And sewing if I ever get started and learn.
My keyboard is up there too. I am not very good at it, but I enjoy playing.

I'm going to make those Chicken Enchiladas that I cooked the chicken for last week for supper tonight. The chicken as been in the freezer and now I just have to put everything together. It's a very easy recipe!!

Have a happy Thursday.

I also have several books going at once. I didn't used to read this way - I read one before I started another. With the Kindle, it's simple to have many at my fingertips. You walk in such a lovely area.

Glad the walk has been pleasant and bearable for you. Get ready for brutal heat again this weekend, though!

How blessed you are to walk that lush and beautiful trail! I liked your last quote and it reminded me of this quote by C.S. Lewis when he said, "If God had granted all the silly prayers I've made in my life, where would I be now?" Our prayers can often be misguided by our own lack of understanding and our fears are often unfounded and can be paralyzing. Thank God that He always guides us in wisdom far beyond our own!
Thanks for reminding me of that today!

I love your blog. It celebrates everyday life which I sometimes forget to do. You inspired me to start my own blog - a way to stay focused on how to keep focused on the things that are important to me and that I want to keep in my life.

Thank you for your inspiring example.
