Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

New Shoes

Mornings just don't get any better than these nice, cool, sunny, spring mornings. The weather was just gorgeous and I loved being out walking around the lake.
In this picture you can see a few Canada geese, one of them making a landing on the water, and a fishermen leaning down by the water. Maybe he caught a fish!
A deer stops eating to watch me walk by.Lots of the regulars were out walking and I learned the name of another one of them. Gary. Barb was walking without her dog today which is very unusual. I asked where Sunny was and she said he just didn't want to walk today and she is worried about him.
I walked my usual 6 miles in my new shoes. :-)
Last night we went to Sports Authority and after trying on many, many pairs of shoes I put the pair on that made me say ahh these feel just right. With all the walking I do I need my shoes to feel perfect before I even start walking. No such thing as breaking them in. If they don't feel just right from the start they never will. I like to keep a pair in reserve so bought two pair. I got a couple pair of stretch calf length pants for walking also. So now I'm set for a while.
I had my usual routine this morning and also cleaned the kitchen windows. Not my favorite job but I'm always glad when I get that done and my windows are sparkly.

I have my Bible study group tonight and I did one of the lessons. Tonight is DVD night so I have till next week to get the other 4 lessons done.

The clothes are taken in off the line, folded and clean sheets put back on the bed and my work for today is finished.
Next I'm going outside on the deck either to read or knit. Though we have the umbrella out there, I haven't sat under it yet. That is about to change!

I hope you looked for your bit of happiness today and found it!

The new clothes and shoes looks very comfortable :) I need new shoes for walking too, but I don`t think I can afford it yet. But this summer I am going to find some. Hope you are fine - the nature photos are lovely.

I wonder how many miles a pair of your shoes have on them.

Dot, I would say my shoes have around 1000 miles on them.

Kerri, my shoes are New Balance and they are not walking shoes but cross training ones. They feel great and I can walk for miles in them. :-)
