Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

My car held hostage

Another beautiful morning just like yesterday. Today I walked around the neighborhoods and along a couple of paths and didn't go by the lake. I saw Sal, a fellow walker who I haven't seen in many months. He started walking later in the day so we just hadn't run into each other. The older couple I see asked me the other day if I had seen him because they were a bit worried about him. Now I can tell them all is well with Sal. :-) Saw a couple of other people out too, but I think most people must have been by the lake on such a nice day. The paths are nice and cool and quiet and I enjoy walking there too. I know I am so lucky to have such great places to walk close to home.
I noticed a lot of gray cat birds this morning. I have been finding coins lately again. In the last few days I've found 3 pennies, 2 nickels, a dime and a quarter! The days are really getting longer now. The sun is up and shining when I start walking now.

A picture along one of the paths I walked.
I was going to go to the commissary this morning, but I couldn't get my car out of the garage. Today they decided to cut out all the concrete with cracks in it by our driveways. We had a piece right in front of ours which they cut out and then put cones on our driveway. I could have gone in the Xterra which was in the front but since I didn't really HAVE to go I just decided to stay home. I'll go out tomorrow instead so I can drive my car. It would have been nice if they had given us some notice though.
Now we have a big cut out part at the end of the driveway, but we can get in and out of one side. They moved the big rubber thing we have in the dip of the driveway so the Vettes don't drag and when they put it back they put it in the street instead of the dip. I can't move it by myself so Ken will have to fix that when he gets home.

Spent the day so far at home doing a little bit of this and that. Just the usual stuff.
We will probably go out later when Ken comes home from work.

Hope you're enjoying your Thursday
Happyone :-)
'Tis better to buy a small bouquet
And give to your friend this very day,
Than a bushel of roses white and red
To lay on his coffin after he's dead.

  2. Walking is getting lucrative! What the most you've ever found?
You would think they would have given some notice! Have they moved the telephone pole from the middle of the street, yet? That's just so bizarre!

  3. Kathy, the pole is still there!!!

  4. I'm glad you didn't have an emergency and also glad to hear you are finding money again.
