Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday on Thursday

We had Saturday today! :-) Ken took a vacation day so we got to spend the day together.
I walked first thing this morning as usual. I walked around the lake on a very foggy morning.
The lake is on the left.
This is the sun trying to break through the clouds right at the very end of my walk. I took this picture near my house. The sun did eventually come out and it was a very nice day.
Walking down the path on the way to the lake there was a deer on the path. When she saw me, she hopped down into the stream and got out on the other side and ran into a yard. That was the only deer I saw. Lots of people out and the topic was the fog. Every one mentioned something about it. I like walking in the fog and seeing things come into focus. Barb said she felt like she was in a Stephen King book!
I walked the usual 6 miles.

I made pancakes for breakfast, which really made it seem like Saturday. At 10 when the library opened we were there. I dropped off two books and I didn't get any more out. Didn't I do well!? I have two more at home that are due next Wednesday. I hope to have them finished by then so I won't have to renew.
From the library we went to the car dealer and dropped off Ken's yellow Corvette. The engine light came on last week and he couldn't figure what was wrong. The book said something to do the emissions. He did a few things but the light was still on so we took it in.
While the car was in the shop we walked across the street to a shopping center where there was a Ruby Tuesday and had lunch there.
Picked up some stamps at the post office and then went back to the dealer to pick up the car. The problem with the car? It needed a new gas cap!! Thank goodness it was only that!!We dropped the car off home and got the Xterra and went on base to hand in the old sticker from the FJ and to get a new one for the Xterra. On the way home from there we stopped at Lowe's and bought a tomato plant and a bell pepper plant. While Ken washed his car, I planted my two little plants. :-)
It's after supper now and Ken is washing the Xterra and here I am. We will have our usual evening at home. Not sure what I'm having for my snack tonight. Right now I'm not hungry so I can't decided just yet.

Hope you all had a happy Thursday.

It was nice to have a Saturday in the middle of the week.
Happyone :-)

Oh the freedom such a day allows! Good for you to have time to spend together doing chores, eating out, just being.

You planted tomatoes and peppers!!! We should place bets as to when the first of each is picked!
