Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

We're Off

We are enjoying our cruise. The ship left Monday night at 5 and we were on deck as we took off from the Port of Baltimore. Pretty exciting to be on our way.
I wasn't wearing my pedometer but I bet we must have walked at least 6 miles and up and down many flights of stairs. We are on the 10th floor or should I say deck.
People weren't kidding when they said there is lots of food to eat. It is so hard to walk by so much food.

Did not walk Tuesday morning but I wore my pedometer all day to see how far I walked and I recorded 6.7 miles. I'm not going to walk in the mornings while on the ship. We both walk so much during the day anyway. There is a jogging track but it's only 1 tenth of a mile and I'd have to walk around many many times to get my 6 miles in and it would be very boring.

We've gone to shows had a few tours of different parts of the ship, met people, and I even won $10 on a slot machine.

Internet access is pretty expensive but at least I can get on line once in while.
There hasn't been much sunshine yet but the weather is certainly warmer and it's great to have left all that snow behind. We can now sit out on the veranda off our room and watch the water.
We have thee days being at sea until our first stop which is St Thomas. I'll try to post a bit more then.

I don't think I'll be able to keep up reading all my favorite blogs, just too busy.
Till next time.....
Happyone :-)

Sounds absolutely WONDERFUL! I usually don't gamble, but on our first cruise (to Alaska) I played blackjack and won $67!! That was the first and last time I ever played.
Take lots of photos -- can't wait to see your various ports. Are you stopping in Key West???
Merry Christmas!

Glad to hear that both of you are enjoying the cruise. I have never been on a cruise but my daughter has been on a cruise and she agrees with you about all the food. She refers to the cruise as a "floating food fest". Enjoy and can't wait to see some of the pictures that you have taken when you get back.

Dear Karen,

I am happy to know that you are really enjoying the cruise. It's a well deserved break after a hectic year. What adds the fun is the company you are with... Friends end up making the best times of our lives. Enjoy more, i would say.... and i wish to see the pictures too... and yes! Merry Christmas.... That's gonna be a gala event there, i understand....

Take care
