Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day out

Good Morning.
I walked around the lake this morning and it was a lot warmer than it has been. There was no breeze and I watched the sun rise to a sunny day. (Though it did cloud up late afternoon.) I saw a few people I knew and stopped to chat for a bit with Jeanne. I passed very close by to a deer that was having breakfast just off the path.
By the time I got home I had taken 12,438 steps.

What a beautiful day yesterday. Warm with lots of sunshine which was perfect day for washing my car. I'm surprised it didn't rain today!

I went over to Cheryl's house this morning. I took her daughter Emily for a short ride in my Corvette which put a smile on her face and she now wants a Corvette for Christmas! :-) I left my car at Cheryl's house and Emily drove us to her boyfriends house. Then it was Cheryl's turn to drive and we went to Annapolis. Found a good place to park, threw some quarters in the parking meter and it starts flashing OUT OF ORDER. A man (owner the jewelry store we parked by) walked over and asked if we were having a problem. Told him about the meter and he said just to write a note saying it broke and put it on the meter. He went back in his store wrote out the note and stuck it on the meter for us. Its nice to know that there are still some gentlemen around. :-)
Cheryl and I walked down by the water and sat on a bench for a bit.
Here's a picture looking straight out from the bench.
One to the right.
And one to the left.
Sorry about the garbage can
but I really liked the blue and red building.
We ate lunch at a place that's been around forever and inside it was very long and narrow. Our sandwiches were delicious.
Drove to a new mall which is like a mini city with condos and apartments on top of stores. We walked in and out of a bunch of stores and stopped to look at a couple of the condo models. Very nice but very expensive!
Then it was time to go and pick up Emily. Once back to Cheryl's I got in my car and came back home.
As always I enjoyed the day with Cheryl. :-)

I'll have a nice quiet evening at home.
Reading
Knitting
Watching a bit of television - I like the show Castle which I starting watching a few weeks ago and its on tonight at 10:00
I have no snack for tonight. :-(

Hope your Monday was filled with sunshine!
Karen :-)
Slow down and enjoy life.
It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast.
You also miss the sense of where you are going and why.

I always enjoy reading about your outings with Cheryl. The two of you have a wonderful friendship.

My PET scan was clear and I did a happy dance right in the Center lobby.

Karen, I way behind with my blogging friends. I was reading your older posts and just realized that you and Ken aren't at the same address. I don't need to know why but I do need you to know that I'm praying for a happy resolution for both of you.

Love that bench in Annapolis!

I've only been to Annapolis a couple of times, but I have always felt it was a beautiful city with plenty of historical charm.
I wonder if I could get a Corvette for Christmas?

Slow down and enjoy life - great reminder - especially this time of the year when we all get soooo busy!

Another beautiful sunrise. What a great day you had, spending time in Annapolis. Love those views from the bench and the brick walkway.

I have only been to Annapolis once (in 1994). It was such a beautiful place and I would definitely visit it again, given the opportunity.

That sounds like a very nice day. My neighbor was recently in Maryland and told me I would like Annapolis. I have never been there, but after seeing your pictures, I think she is right.

It was a fun day. I'm glad we didn't have the pickles or the candy!
