Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Shining through

I took this photo of the sun through the trees this morning when I first walked out the door. No special route today but I did walk my usual 6 miles. Hot and sticky again.

I took my car out today and had no trouble with the road being blocked coming or going. I think the worst of it is over. They finished putting the siding up on the houses at the end of the street and are now working on the decks around the back. The other row of houses are just about done and the last row they just started are ready for the shingles to put on the roof. They will be starting on them tomorrow because the tar paper and shingles are already on the roofs.

I went to Wal-mart and got a few things and walked around. Then went to Lowes and walked around - I bought a curtain and rod for the back door. I had to cut and hem the bottom of the curtain and took off the tabs at the top. The panel only cost $9.99 so I didn't mind fixing it up a bit for the door. I tried putting the curtain rod up but couldn't get the screws started in the door for the brackets. I knew it needed to be drilled first and I found the drill in the garage but couldn't find the drill bits. I tried gluing the brackets up but after a while they started pulling away once the curtain was hanging. I'll just have to find those drill bits!

I did some more reading and should finally finish my book tomorrow.
I played cards again and listened to more of All Creatures. There is still about 2 hours left on the disc.

After my supper of a baked potato and salad I walked down to the mail box again and then walked around the neighborhood like yesterday. Only found one nail tonight!

Did some knitting while watching Netflix and once again had chocolate chip cookies for my snack.

I'll be doing some more reading in a little while when I get off the computer.

I hope you enjoyed your Tuesday and found laughter in your day.
Happyone :-)
To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.

Mine was pretty quiet, too. I went to Costco, Trader Joe's, and Giant. Richard should be coming home today (to leave again tomorrow). I made myself a chef salad and a soup for dinner. thinking of going to Bed, Bath, and Beyond for one of those half moon shower curtain rods, and I'm looking for a carpet for our foyer. Maybe IKEA or Pier 1?

You captured a beautiful sunrise on your walk. That's certainly an advantage to an early morning walk. I admire you for all the projects you take on!

The sun through the trees looks beautiful, what a beautiful thing to see in your morning.

I need help with some English grammar, just if you want to:
I have a new blog about how I organize my home and days (it is not for public yet, still my little secret, but I hope to open it soon).
In a post I write about how I organize my children`s wardrobe, and this is the sentence I need help for:
"They also have a shelf for clothes they have worn a little but can be used some more before we wash it"
Shall I write use or wear ? I am not sure if you understand what I mean....

That's a pretty way to start the day with the sun shining through the trees. It sounds like before too long your construction traffic will be replaced with new neighbors.

I hope you were able to find your drill bits.

You always find a way to fill your days. I've been reading. I'd rather be doing something else. I'm taking a computer break :))

Hope you're having a good night. I'm sure you're watching something and eating some ice cream or cookies. I'm a creature of habit too!
