Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I walked a different

route on this bright sunny Saturday morning. Walked just a bit over 6 miles. No planned walked, just made up my mind as I walked along. I walked up route 108 - usually a busy road but not early on a weekend.
The bridge you see here is the one I usually walk over.
I took this picture walking along 108.
Just a little way up 108 I turned in a street and walked around a small development.
Does this look familiar Kathy? :-)
Coming back out I saw this path and walked along it.
It comes out by the lake I usually walk around. I turned around and walked back and then walked along a couple of the paths where I usually walk.
There was some kind of swim teem meet over at the neighborhood pool. Cars parked every where and LOTS of people.
In the parking lot of the Giant a whole group of women were gathering. Looked like they had some big outing they were all going on.

When I got back from my walk Kenny was already gone. Kerry picked him up and they went to a gun show at the fair grounds.

I had some of that banana bread I made yesterday for breakfast and then did my usual morning chores around the house.
Since the guys were having a morning out, Jackie and I decided to drive up to Bowie to the store that sells the Polish pottery that I like so much which she likes too. I drove us in the Vette and we spent quite a lot of time choosing a couple of pottery pieces to buy.
As you can see there is quite a large selection to choose from.
Here Jackie is trying to decide on which pieces to buy.
These are the two pieces I ended up with. It's hard to tell from the picture but this first one is an oval piece which is 12 inches across.
This serving bowl is 8 1/2 inches across.
The four of us met back at our house and then we all headed out the door again and went to the old part of Ellicott City and had some lunch at the Mexican restaurant at the top of the street. We had a delicious lunch which we ate outside on the patio and stayed there a couple of hours talking and just having a good time.

Once back home I did a little reading and now here I am on the computer.
I've had such a nice time today and I hope you have too.
Happyone :-)
To know love is to know life,
To give love is to know happiness.

  1. Sounds like another nice day. I really like the new pottery pieces you bought for your collection.

  2. What a nice surprise, Karen!!! Notice the activity at that hour of the morning! :)

I sometimes walk East on 108 toward your place and then down to the right by the golf course. That's a nice walk, too!

That pottery is beautiful -- absolutely beautiful!

  3. It sounds as if you had a great Saturday. I spent most of my day out in the yard, but you can't tell I got much accomplished. We've had more rain than usual this year and the weeds are going crazy!

  4. What a great day you had with your friends. Love your new Polish pottery pieces! Saturday we were in Monmouth,NJ for granddaughter's dance recital. It was a fun day.

  5. Sounds like a perfect day, and a happy one. That store has an amazing amount of pottery. Is it in old Bowie?

  6. What a fun day you had. I like the Polish pottery you chose. That must have taken a lot of restraint to only buy two pieces! :D

  7. Cheryl,
Yes, it's in old Bowie in a store called The Fabian. It sells antiques and collectibles.

Hello my friend.

I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
