Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A hot sticky

morning walk today as I walked around the neighborhoods. I walked past an older woman and she started talking to me so I stopped to chat with her. She was saying how fast the cars were going - much faster than the 25 mile limit. She told me to be careful crossing the streets. :-) I told her to do the same as I continued on my way.

I got my new flannel sheets in the mail yesterday and today I washed them. I did put them in the dryer for a bit so I could get most of the lint off. Red flannel sheets have more lint than you can imagine!! I washed them a second time, put them in the dryer for a little bit for the second time and then finally hung them outside to dry all the way. The nice 15 inch wide fitted sheet fit perfectly on the mattress and that makes me happy!!
By the way - They smell good too. :-)

I walked over to the very conveniently placed Giant this morning and picked up a few things for supper and remembered to bring my own insulated bag. I'm getting real good now a days remembering to take it with me. :-)

Trucks and vans parked all up and down the streets again. They took down the fence all around the working area by the townhouse row in front of ours so they can do the landscaping. They also started leveling the land for the last row of 5 units to be built by us. Then there is just one more row of 8 to be built over by the model which is on the other side so we will be out of the way. Yay!!

Painting is in the very near future for me. We bought some green paint for the little bathroom downstairs and that will be my project for next week. Ken said he would tape it off for me. I never do that - I just paint neatly!! The color I chose is called Greenfield.

After supper we walked around the neighborhood as we do most evenings picking up nails out of the road that the workers dropped. I wonder how many people we have saved from getting flat tires!

Watched a couple of episodes of Fraiser tonight and I had chocolate chip ice cream for my snack.
Well that's my Friday! Hope you enjoyed your day!
Happyone :-)

Good for you -- picking up nails to prevent flat tires. I have to confess that we still sometimes forget to take our bag when we go to the store to pick up a few things, but we're trying, too.

I'm really trying to bring my own bags to the grocery store, too. I always remember to bring them into Trader Joe's, but when I go to the Giant, it's hit or miss.
Aren't you the good Samaritans in picking up the nails!
