Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

What a beautiful morning

for a walk around the lake - cool and sunny. One of those days when I just didn't want to go home, could have walked all day. I saw a Pileated Woodpecker and wished I could have gotten a picture of him but he just didn't cooperate. The wash got hung up out on the deck on this sunny day. My clothes line on the deck is working out real well and the clothes lines that are down stairs work out well too so I don't have to use my dryer. My plan was to get an early start on house cleaning this morning and clean the upstairs but I ended up reading and finishing a book.
The 8TH Confession by James Patterson.
A pretty good book and one that I enjoyed reading. One of the crimes in the book was taken from real a life situation with things changed around a bit because I remember watching a documentary about it and the confession at the end of the book was like one I saw on a episode of Law and Order one time. House cleaning didn't get started till after lunch and I did finish the whole upstairs. I am a fast worker and run around doing everything at once when I clean. I had some time to work on my cross stitch a little bit and also to sit out on the deck and do a little more reading. Ken got home from work a little late so I had a some extra time. We went out and got a sandwich at Subway for supper. Now we are home and about to watch another episode of The House of Eliott, have some ice cream, and I'll knit. Hope you all had a nice sunny day too. Happyone :-)

It sounds as if you had a wonderful day. I'm glad the clothes lines are working out well.

I did have a pleasant day...thanks!
Sometimes I have to laugh when I think of the differences between the two of us. You could walk all day and I am hobbling to get one loop around the cemetery. John asked me if I wanted to go around a second time and I shot him daggers. He said, "Thank God." Ha! We're sorely out of shape.

I'm hoping to find out what's wrong with my knee so I can start walking again. You are one busy lady!

I think I just learned the secret to how you seem to accomplish so much every day - you're a fast worker. I think you must have a lot of energy too.

Sounds like a nice day.

Gorgeous weather right now! I love seeing the pileated woodpeckers - they are beautiful and so impressive.

I got up early today and ran 3 miles and walked one mile, the moon was so gorgeous and even lit the path through the woods well enough to run on it instead of walking.

Carpe Diem!

I clean like that to. It must look totally disorganized but I do eventually get it all done!

You do get so much done in a day -- good for you!
I'm going to look up 'pileated woodpecker'. I frequently see flickers, but on Friday saw a woodpecker with a red head that was too big to be one. We also have bluebirds this year -- so beautiful!

Just looked it up and I believe that's what I saw!

I enjoy the way you allow us to catch glimpses of your life in action. Moments that may seem quite ordinary, but they aren't really, for I see how they add beauty, joy and smiles to your day....
