Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A visit with Lin

No rain this morning but it was cloudy and damp. These two streams run through one of the neighborhoods where I walk and are usually just a trickle but with all the rain they are now full. When I got back near home I ran into Lin and walked around the block with her. We made plans to meet at her house at 1:00. I did a few things around the house in the morning and in the afternoon walked over to Lin's house. I gave her a mini pumpkin bread loaf, a knitted dish cloth and a card that I made for her and she made a loaf of banana bread for me and Ken. We drink hot chocolate and ate a piece of spice cake that Lin had made. She loves to bake and her cake was delicious. We laughed talked and laughed some more and the couple of hours I was over her house flew by. It's evening now and almost time for my snack. I should really skip it tonight because I already had a goody today but I'll splurge and go for two. I'll pick out a Netflix to watch and then knit and read for the rest of the evening. One of my happy times today was spending time with Lin. If not for my morning walk I would never have met her. :-)

You really gain so much from your walks, don't you?

Walks bring social as well as physical benefits, don't they? It looks as if you've gotten a lot of rain recently.

Well that's the nicest reason I can think of to walk...finding a new friend. Those streams really are swollen. Ours are, too.

Two snacks in one day! Better watch out or you'll look like me. I eat a lot of sweets at night.

We've had alot of rain also here in Tennessee. But--we needed it, so I cannot complain (even if I wanted to). Ha!!!!

Love your pictures of the creeks--which now look like rivers!!!

The stream photos are beautiful! I love how they meander through the trees like that. It's pretty. But yes, they do look really full!
Sounds like you had a good day, nothing better than hot chocolate and baked goods to make you all giddy!!

I'm guessing Lin's a new friend? What a great additional benefit from your walks!
