Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A quiet at home day

Yesterday morning and this morning it was raining out but very mild when I walked and now it's pretty windy. I'm about ready for some sunshine and I see some peeks of it very now and then. A quiet Saturday around here today. Ken is gone for most of the day so I've been just puttering around the house this morning getting some of those every day house chores done. I noticed today that my two Christmas cactus are blooming. I noticed the buds a couple of days ago and didn't realize they were blooming already. These were my mother-in-laws plants and I'm always so happy that they are still growing and blooming. Just a short post. I'm going to have some lunch and then try to finish that Thanksgiving Day card that I'm making. You remember, the cross stitch that says you can do in one day!! Enjoy your Saturday! Hope all is happy in your world. :-)

As I write this it's raining again. Doing laundry, small things around the house and reading. I'm ready for some sunshine!

It's not raining on this side of the country....but we have the wind!
So funny, I posted about plants today and my Christmas cactus is blooming too...only not as much as yours!! Wow! Beautiful!

We've had one day of sun in ever so long. I'm feeling pretty soggy and kinda blue about the whole thing.

Those cactus/cacti are just beautiful. I bet that Jan really enjoyed seeing them today, too.

So it's a bit of a stretch to say that the cross-stitch card can be done in one day, I take it. That's how I feel about speed cleaning a house.

Have a wonderful, quiet, rainy evening.

Say, I think that both you and Jan have a Thanksgiving Cactus and not a Christmas cactus after all...see what I mean right here: http://www.backyardgardener.com/masterg/g-54.html
