Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Moving right along on the town house.

After two days of rain and warm weather, it was cold today but there was lots of sunshine for most of the day. Now this evening is raining again. I have lots more leaves to rake but I'll have to save the raking for another day. Yesterday we of course went over to the town house and was so surprised to see them working on a Sunday. They were on the roof doing the shingles and it was pretty windy out. We didn't get very close because things were blowing off the roof. Even though they still haven't fixed the cut out for the transom window we saw the doors all lined up in one of the garages and they do have the transom windows in them which makes us very happy. Today I did Meals on Wheels. The one lady Janice that I had for a couple of weeks who was off the other week, I'm happy to say is now back on. I had two more new people today - a couple (Joe & Pat) who are younger than I am!! They also have a dog that Joe was holding back and told me his name was Comet. When I said hi Comet, Joe told me that Comet was not friendly and that if he let him go, the dog would bite me. Not good!! There are now 8 people on my route which I think is just the right amount of people. If I get to many more than that I don't have enough time to have a little visit. I finally finished the cross stitch for the Thanksgiving Day card I'm making that was supposed to be done in one day. Tomorrow I will make the rest of the card. After supper tonight we went back to the town house again. It was dark and raining so the picture isn't all that good. The roof is done and they did the cut out for the transom window and some of the windows are now in. Here is the start of the stairs going from the garage up to the next floor. I thought this picture turned out pretty good considering it was DARK and was taken with the flash. The rest of the evening we'll watch a movie and I'll knit, have some ice cream and maybe read. It's nice being home this evening in a nice cozy house and listening to the rain on the roof. I hope today was a Happy One for you.

Your Town House is coming along nicely. I love the steps you have going up from your garage. They aren't too steep....

Your town house is looking good! And I'm glad you don't have to worry about that transom window anymore.

Yay for the transoms!

I think that the difference between cactuses is that a Thanksgiving cactus has teeth...or ragged edges and the Christmas cactus had rounded or smooth edges. Did we have this conversation last year? It all seems so familiar now. :D

It might be stupid but I do not know what a transom window is!!!!!
The house looks great.
I don't like dogs that much and this one is "not good" indeed. lol

Wow! I can't believe how fast your town house is going up! Probably doesn't seem fast to you, though! It's looking great!

I love the dormer windows at the top of the house - reminds me of Baltimore.

Dick - a transom window is a window above the door.

Val - we have a preliminary date for the closing of January 6. We're glad its after the holidays.
