Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Opportunity to do a kindness? Do it.

It isn't the thing you do dear, It's the thing you leave undone, That gives you the bitter heartache At the setting of the sun; The tender word unspoken, The letter you did not write, The flower you might have sent, dear, Are your haunting ghosts at night. The stone you might have lifted Out of your brother's way, The bit of heartfelt counsel You were hurried too much to say; The loving touch of the hand, dear, The gentle and winsome tone, That you had no time or thought for, With troubles enough of your own. These little acts of kindness, So easily out of mind, These chances to be angels, which even mortals find - They come in nights of silence, To take away the grief, When hope is faint and feeble, And a drought has stopped belief. For life is all too short, dear, And sorrow is all too great, To allow our slow compassion That tarries until too late. And it's not the thing you do, dear, It's the thing you leave undone, That gives you the bitter heartache, At the setting of the sun. - Adelaide Proctor
Philippians 2:3 & 4 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have a blessed Sunday! Do some kindness for some one each day and make their day a Happy One!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One more picture of the house. The garage door is up and we can't get in the house anymore to walk around.
You should ask Kathy to drive by from time to time if she's around and let you know if the doors are open!
How exciting is that. A brand new home that only you will have lived in. I love that feeling. Can't wait to see it when it's done. Looks super cute.
I'd love to check the house for you. You'll just have to give me the #. Maybe the next time we meet for lunch we can go to Leelynn's? BTW, are you going to have a deck or a balcony over the garage?
The poem is great and good reminder to make a little positive difference in someone's life. There is certainly plenty of unkindness in the world, so a lot kindness is needed.
That is a wonderful poem and excellent scriptures to accompany it.
I love your carriage style garage doors...just marvelous! Too bad that you can't get in anymore, though.
Hopefully you will soon have your own key!
Kathy - Thanks but no need to check the house. We can just let Nate know and he will let us in. Yes, there is a deck in the back. As it's built I will be posting pictures.
