Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Night to Day

Very mild weather (60 degrees) this morning as I headed out the door for my morning walk in the dark. I woke up early and was out the door by 6:20. I took this picture of the moon right in front of my house. This picture I took as I was walking up Gorman Road to the library. Pretty dark isn't it? You can barely see the sidewalk I'm walking on. The one light up at the top of the picture is the moon!
Teenagers sure are NOT in happy moods or very friendly waiting for the school bus. This morning I walked passed three corners where they were waiting and I said "Good Morning" each time. No one said a word back - they all just stared at me. I did see my walking friends Beverly and Fran and they did smile and say "Good Morning." :-)
When the sun started to come up I took this picture.
I didn't walk along the paths in the woods today because it was so dark I wouldn't have been able to see. So I walked along the roads. I had some books to drop off at the library so I walked there to drop them in the book drop. I walked around the long block by the library and then walked back to town and up to the park.
I took this picture of a tree with it's leaves almost gone on my way.
One lone pretty leaf.
I walked around the park and then cut across the baseball field and walked around Windemere Circle and took these two pictures of fall displays in peoples yards. Once I got back to the park I stopped to talk to Tom and George, two of the park workers. They do such a great job of keeping our walking paths safe for us all so we can enjoy our walks. Thanks guys!! Walking around town before going back home I took this one last picture that I thought looked pretty. As usual I had a very enjoyable morning walk and walked just over 6 miles. It is one of the best times of my day. I hope you enjoyed walking along with me today. Make your Wednesday a Happy one!

I did enjoy walking with you. And I love your pictures. That first one of the moon is great. I have tried...but I can't get a good moon shot.

That's a great moon shot.. and the pretty lone leaf is nice.. I like taking leaves and pressing them in books and using them for art projects... I say that but lately I have all these pressed leaves and haven't gotten around to the projects... LOL
Nice post!

Poor teenagers! They should be home in bed at that time of the morning. Still it's no reason for them to be rude and staring without comment is rude.

Nice leaf! Did you pick it up and save it for framing? It really is a corker.

I tried to take a picture of the moon tonight but my phone camera doesn't have zoom and you couldn't even tell it was the moon. I took a picture of it this morning on my walk, and it's my phone screensaver.

I love all your pictures. That was a KILLER moon, wasn't it? With the clouds it even looked kind of lumpy. Weird. Is this what we call a harvest moon?
