Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Day 4

Doing the July Photo-a-day Challenge with ChrissyT
Day 4
Sparkle

The butterfly is the first diamond art project I did.
It is a lot more sparkly than the picture shows.

The streamer in the bush is more sparkly than the picture shows too.

A comfortable 68 degrees for walking this morning.
Sunny and calm and once again by mid morning there was a lovely breeze.

Walked the lower cemetery, around town town, over to and around
the ball park loop, more around town, and lastly the cemetery on the hill.

Finishing touches getting ready for the parade and festivities which
start with the parade at 11:00.

Food is served at the firehouse.

You can sit back here and eat.

Already at 7:15 I saw the first chairs along the parade route
saving their viewing spots.

I saw Sheila running her laps around the cemetery.
We stopped for a 10 minute chat.

We didn't go to town for the festivities.
We've been a few times before when we first moved here.
After you've been there a few years it is all the same.
Same parade, same food, same crafts for sale and just
a lot of people.

Washed and hung out a load of laundry.

Made some Potato Salad to go with the hamburgers we had.
We ate early afternoon sitting out on the front porch.
Also had some watermelon.

Spent a lot of time outside on the porch enjoying this
4th of July.
A thunder storm passing by chased me inside when
I started getting wet.
After that passed the sun was out again and quite a bit cooler.

Happy 4th of July.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope you had a wonderful day.

Hello Karen, thank you so much for sharing this post and your lovely photos. I really enjoyed the tour! Your potato salad, hamburgers and watermelon sound divine! :)
Today it is a bit more comfortable in Montreal, but just a little...and thankfully there is a bit of a breeze and some cloudy periods, which makes getting around a bit easier. However, it still isn't comfortable enough to take a long walk, but I am grateful for a little bit of relief. I did a little bit of shopping and got my hair trimmed! It feels great!
Your diamond art is beautiful! Yes, I can see it is sparkly, but as you mentioned, I am sure it is more sparkly than the picture shows! Lovely colours!
Happy 4th to you, dear friend.

Hope the parade was fun. I also loved watching the kiddos grab candy that was thrown. Beautiful diamond art butterfly. A thunderstorm is coming as I type. We lost power last night for a half hour and winds were horrible. Thankfully no damage. Happy July 4th! Janice

The butterfly is so pretty! And I love your sun rising over the mountains. It has been storming here all day! I'm thinking no fireworks for anyone.
