Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Day 3

Doing the July Photo-a-day Challenge with ChrissyT
Day 3
Food

It is NOT my birthday but here is a birthday cake
that Ken baked for me one year.
It is a 4 layer chocolate cake.
In between layers is chocolate pudding and raspberry jam
topped off with real whipped cream

The warmest weather so far at 74 degrees for this mornings walk.
Started off a bit foggy but soon it was sunny with some clouds too.
A still morning but the breeze picked up mid morning again.

Walked around both of the cemeteries to start again.
Then over to the ball park and once again walked around there
a few more times than normal to stay in the shade.
Then just walked around town trying to stay in the shade.

A few photos of the animals I talked to along my walk.

The Geese

The chickens

This little (not so little anymore) black chick is my favorite.
He is usually outside the fence and seems like a character.

Interesting fence was put up.
Gives some privacy but you don't feel closed in.
I see some holes dug along the fence where maybe they will plant something.

Lots of activity going on around town.
Things getting cleaned, mowed, firetrucks getting washed and a
general tidy up for the parade and festivities tomorrow
in town for July 4th.

Didn't see anyone else out just walking though.

We went out first thing this morning to get a few chores done.
While at Lowe's I bought a couple of plants for the porch.
I bought both of these for $15.

Spent some time on the front porch reading.
Warm but with a nice breeze.
Humming birds coming by and liking those petunias.
Used to put out feeders but they never came by.
Petunias, and they come a calling.

Looking forward to that homemade pizza in just a little while.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope you had a wonderful day.

Ken must be an expert baker! I see the sun rays above the mountains! The chickens actually look like fake chicken yard decor! It is 103 here today!
